RB #s

Don't see an elite back on the roster or in the class. Having 6 "good" RBs is OK but it's a lot better to have that 1 elite guy. I'm expecting the OL to take a gigantic leap forward this next year, which should make these guys look better. It'd be hard for anyone to run behind some of the push they (didn't) get last year.

I totally agree and this is why I totally disliked Kehoee coming back. Dude just totally sucked here. As in GA I feel that Richt, understanding the challenges you mentioned above, will focus much time on improving OL play, non-elite RB play, use 2 TE's and better utilize our players' skills. Football starts on the DL and OL lines. Let's get down and dirty and do our grunt work like Alabama does!

Some of you all are acting like we've got a roster full of stud running backs. No, we need to keep fishing in order to raise our level of talent at that position, Homer is a step in the right direction.

If there is a high school back better than the backs on your roster, do you pass on him because of running back numbers or do you allow kids to compete and let the situation work itself out?.I vote compete. Move non-producers to a different position or the bench.

Richt the type of coach that will greatly improve our offense, specially OL and RBs, due to his offensive focus. Great offensive players, specially QBs and RBs will want to come here and play for him and his system, just like they did in GA.

Don't know why people are sleeping on Mark Walton.

Because he averaged 3.5 yards per carry. He's solid but nothing special.

3.9, behind a terrible O-line and had a number of long tds taken away.

Average at best running back to barely good even if he stays here all four years. I want more than that, someone faster who's shifter. He's neither fast nor shifty, plenty of guys like that in college football.

He's not the only RB to have plays and TD's called back. There's typically a reason they're called back, so no extra points here. Good running backs make everyone around them better, even the OL. Yes, their play was poor, but Walton didn't help them out much.

Exactly.

He's a freshman.

Perfect, decide the kid's ability based on limited carries behind a crap line as a freshman. If he didn't put up big numbers under those circumstances then he clearly isn't capable of doing so.

And you're blaming Walton for the holding penalties that brought those TDs back? You know we're talking about American football right?

RB is the easiest position to tell what you've got right away. In particular when there's a decent sample size of carries....freshman or not.

Of course I'm not blaming Walton for holding penalties. I can't ever remember a hold by a running back while he's running with the ball, so your statement makes no sense. A hold was obviously called on someone else as you well know and he's not the only running back who had a TD or three called back on the season. No extra points given here.

Just look at these averages....they're horrible.
