I would absolutely give him a shot. Just because he wasn’t a great talent doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the work ethic or intelligence to be an outstanding coach. Most great coaches were average players at BEST with many not even that.
Agree it's crazy the hate he gets. Malik rosier came here a low ranked 3 Star QB and busted his *** to become the starting QB here, he was a leader on the team and helped us have our best season in like 15 years while setting the UM single season TD record and years later some in this fan base still treat him like an absolute bum. Dude worked his *** off on Green Tree and gave his everything at Hard Rock, if he wants to get into a career in coaching then UM should do what they can to help him if he wants to, give him a simple Graduate assistant job and let him learn.
