Ra’Shaad Samples
Saw someone mention his name on TOS, after looking into him he seems to be a young star on the rise, coached LA Ram’s RBs in 2022 and was recently hired as WR Coach at ASU.
Has deep connects in Dallas-Fort Worth Area.
Known as stellar recruiter.
Kind of hire Mario would make

@Memnon had this to say about him in 2021
Ra’Shaad Samples is an excellent recruiter, he’s the son of legendary HS coach at Duncanville Reggie Samples.

Idk if he should be an HC just yet given how young he is, but he definitely has a bright future & any smart Big XII coach would do themselves a big favor by hiring him on their staff because he’s a high level recruiter even for a small private G5 school, you give him better resources & he’d be a monster on the trail at a P5 program.

Lot of money to lure him to ASU from the NFL.

If it is Harris I'll admit he would be a good fit schematically with Dawson's offense with him coming from UCF and Malzhan's offense. They sure had a great year rushing the ball, too.

If we're bringing in a guy to be a recruiting sharp-shooter it would be nice if he had landed at least one 5-star 4-star prospect in his entire coaching career.

I'm not against seeing something in someone and giving them a chance, projecting, not unlike what TAMU did today, but I'm not sure if now is the time. Unless Mario is absolutely committed to beefing up our Dade credentials.
Your not landing 4 star recruits at FIU brother.

How about at UCF? They get a few. If we are hiring a guy with zero power-5 experience to be an "elite recruiter" maybe it would be nice if he over-acheived at some point and landed at least one low 4-star (that's barely a top 400 player) at least once in his career.

Edit: also see my post two down ⬇️

Going by 247’s rankings the program has signed 18 4 stars in program history. The two highest commits he has are the 2nd and 3rd highest rated RBs the program has signed. Again this is using 247’s metrics.

That part is encouraging. Thanks. But he also hasn't landed any of the top 25 recruits that UCF has landed in its short relevant history. 247 doesn't list past that. Note that the 25th best recruit was only a 3-star with a .8833 rating. So let's just estimate 28 for the sake of conversation. 28 times, a UCF coach has been able to land a player that is rated higher than his all-time best recruit. And right now is certainly the easiest time in UCF history to recruit, with them having had recent success, Malhzan, and going to the Power-5. I am not saying he did a bad job or anything, but I just don't see "recruiting assassin" when I look at his CV. Would love to be wrong. He's a Cane and I want him to do well regardless of whether he's here or not.

These are the best kids he's ever landed:

I also noticed he didn't land a single RB from HS or the portal this past cycle. Or am I mistaken?
