I know the actual number does not mean much at this point. But after a loss and no losses for team ahead of them, Miami moved up in the first poll out after the game. So while we have alot of football minds on this board, other football minds were impressed at least somewhat. They saw something.

As mad as I was at, well, nearly everything I watched last night, I thought we might move up. We SHOULD have beaten a top 10 team, and everyone knows it. You can't drop a team ranked as low as we were for darn near beating a top 10 team. If they are #8, we should be in the top 15. Win, and we'll start climbing in a hurry.

They seriously did new rankings after just 2 CFB games (UF-Miami and Arizona-Hawaii) were played?
Agree,.. WTF?? My son and I just talked about this on the way back from Orlando. We both agreed new rankings would be after week 1.Seems lame imo

Meh, nothing is more lame than polls before anyone plays a game. I have no problem with slight adjustments if only 4 teams played.

Can somebody provide a link to the new rankings? I’ve googled CFB rankings, and nothing new seems to have been created.

Are there actually any new rankings, or is the OP making stuff up?

I'm pretty sure you made this up.

It's actually the power index, so I mis-spoke somewhat. But principle is the same.
As I said, it really does not matter, numbers in week 1 are irrelevant, but it does show that the loss did impress, even if just statistically, for now.

This is actually kind of funny but in all honesty at least they saw we have more juice than previously thought
