Ranking the Open Coaching Jobs

Yup. Never agreed with the people saying Carolina and Maryland were better jobs. Doesn't matter what the Under Armour guy says about Maryland, it still isn't better than a Miami job that isn't hamstrung financially. SC is SEC but that's it, Miami is a better job especially if a coach has eyes on the NFL

Crazy that all these jobs are open by Halloween

if you are a school like UVA you almost dont want to be fire London because of all the competition for coaches in that mid to lower tier

At the end of the day, Butch Davis will be the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes for the 2016-2017 season.

Facilities aren't that bad anymore. Stadium is bad still. Firing Golden and paying the buyout might mean we're serious and will open our pockets up.

Hopefully we do.

In my mind the only terrible aspect is the stadium situation....that and an Indoor Practice Facility need to be # 1 and # 2 priority after we find a new coach

2. Miami: The facilities aren’t that good, including second-class status in a stadium that is about a 45-minute drive from campus. The pay is not great, especially considering the ridiculous fan expectations. And speaking of expectations, the fan support is a mile wide but an inch deep. Still, the recruiting base is the best in the nation (yes, the best), and the program has been dominant for long stretches in the past 30 years, so it can be done.

So in short, pay sucks, facilities suck, stadium sucks, fan base insane and useless unless you win, BUT second best because RECRUITING BASE AND HISTORY OF KICKING EVERYONE ***!!!!!

I say that about sums it up. Is there someone who can maximize our two advantages and is not afraid of the other stuff, why yes: Give us BUTCH THE HUN!!!!!

NO BUTCH - NO PEACE!

With the other jobs opening up, with some additional to come, we'll get Butch by default, because he'll be the only one left after BOT takes its time..

I keep hearing all this BS about the facilities and stadium and blah blah blah.

I want a coach who's looking to win a National Championship. And there's no easier place to win an NC right now than Miami. The level of talent that's in our recruiting ground would allow a winning coach to reload year after year. And the ACC is relatively weak.

Yes, but soon to be

1. SC
2. UGA
3. Miami
Yeah. Closer than some think though. I know Richt gets a ton of **** but if UGA doesn't make the right hire they are gonna fall off fast.

Although he didn't win a chip he has kept them relevant for 15 years and has 9 ten win seasons
Since when is winning 9 games a year acceptable? This is Georgia, not Rutgers or Temple. A great coach at Georgia should win national titles. They have a better recruiting base than anyone in the SEC in my opinion. They also play in the weak SEC East. That division is the same as the ACC. What Georgia is doing now should be expected with an average coach. Any real coach would win the SEC east every year that Florida doesn't.

Just like Golden, Richt has a 6-7 year also.

1. Over his tenure Richt averaged 10 wins a season
2. Who elevated the standards of UGA football? Mark Richt. He showed the world that UGA should be a consistent top ten team.
3. In their history, UGA has two titles (1980 & 1954).
4. Mark Richt has the highest winning % of any UGA coach in the past 95 years. Truly, he is the winningest UGA coach since Herman Stegman and Glenn "Pop" Warner both coached less than 30 games.
5. Vince Dooley (2nd winningest SEC coach at the time of his retirement) won the SEC East 6 out of 24 years (3 ties and 3 outright). That puts him at 25%. Mark Richt has won the SEC East 6 out of 15 years (3 ties and 3 outright). That puts him at 40%. Before Richt arrived, UGA had not won a division title since 1992.

I agree that Mark Richt has not gotten the job done (winning a ring) but he has elevated the UGA program and their standard for achievement. People overlook his work because he does not have a ring. Richt greatly impacted UGA's brand and national perception. Know your history my man.

Just like Golden, Richt has a 6-7 year also.

Nick Saban has multiple 6-6 seasons and a 7-6 season. Gary Patterson has 4-8, 6-6, and 7-6 seasons. Does that mean they're just like Golden too?
