True story I was a little kid and watching basketball with my grandpa. I hear them talking about the Twin Towers. I’m like “grandpa are they like 6ft tall?”

He’s like “seven”. Mind was blown.

Followed them every day after that still got my AI jersey

The first game I ever watched of College Basketball on TV was ironically Georgetown vs Miami in 1993.

That was the Othella Harrington, George Butler, Joey Brown & Robert Chruchwell squad.

I only watched them because my Dad was a fan of Big John Thompson.

For whatever reason I just liked watching them play & then the following year once they got Allen Iverson, I was hooked.

Ah yeah so you just missed Mutombo and Mourning. Funny how it works out when teams click especially if you’re not from an area with a hometown team.

My grandma took me to DC right around the same time and seeing Georgetown there just kinda made everything click

Othella was a beast he just had some huge shoes to fill (literally and figuratively)
