Interested to see what everybody thinks about other programs and where they stand. Maybe your top 10 list.

I guess I should have asked what would be the top 10 most desirable places to coach.

1. Bama
2. OSU
3. LSU
4. Texas
5. ND
6. Clemson
7. OU
8. UGA
9. Michigan
10. Florida

Good list.

If the criteria includes 'brand' and cache and prestige, I'd probably throw usc in there, but I'm not sure who I'd take off. I'd like to think UM would be close to getting back on that list...but not yet.

I was down to USC or Florida for last spot. Florida overall athletics gave them the edge. Yes, I'm including all that into the "program" term.

I mean this with all due respect, but please convince me how the fug UF is #10. Like, does some random college fan also consider UF a top 10 program or this an in-state bias?

Since 2010, they have 4 double digit win seasons. They also have 6 seasons with 5 or more losses. They project a ton of crap about being a top brand, but have hired Will Muschamp, Jim Mcelwain, and Dan Mullen as leaders of their "marquee" program?

Someone explain this to me, please.

Proximity bias.

UGA is 2nd.

Texas and OU won't be as desirable once they move to the SEC. They are going to lose even more than they do now.

There is a reason why Lincoln Riley may be on the move....the writing is on the wall for both these programs for at least the next decade.

Same way I think USC would be up there. Based on records, play, coaches they hired, they wouldn't be, wholeheartedly agree. Still a big name program in a state stacked with talent.

If they win it all this year they move up to #3.

This guy just gets it.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again two biggest failure athletic departments in the country, Texas and Florida, how you don’t win virtually everything every year with those budgets is incomprehensible.

I think the metric of desirability needs some clarification. Is the only heavily weighted factor winning a championship? Id rather have the job at Stanford than most conventional top ten jobs personally, for example.

Picture a world where UF football isn't an overrated pile of dog shiat....

I cant.

I just can't wrap my head around it. I hear your logic. And, perhaps this is merely my admitted bias toward UF, but if I'm a bigtime coach, I'd rather be at PSU (which is disgusting to me, personally), Tennessee, Auburn, or even cot**** Wisconsin.

The University of Gainesville is in a nasty spot in that SEC East and, fueled by a whole bunch of lack of self-awareness (just like we have) and a giant budget that only skyrockets the pressure, it's tough to build something strong - from the ground up - with a bunch of frail Florida player mindsets. I don't see any reason they'd necessarily be above Auburn or Tennessee.

Also, please do not discount the fact you have to live in Gainesville, Florida. I've got nothing against Longhorn Steakhouse's Thursday special and Dragonfly Sushi's creativity, but go ahead and send your wife to Oaks Mall. Rate the enthusiasm. You might not get the same type of *** for the term of your contract.
