Rank our last 5 coaches

OP joined today. I suspect he's ranking them on hotness.

You want to explain the decend into the abyss, just look at who each of those coaches hired as assistants. ...you will see the decline.

The success of any HC is the quality of their assistants... maybe it is time for the AD to get involved in who is being hired as assistants and not just in the HC.

That would be the more interesting question too- assemble an entire staff from the entire pool of assistants those guys had the last almost 20 years.

Coker is the worst and it isn’t close. Our other coaches since then have inherited messes and even though they couldn’t get the problem back where it truly needs to be, none left the team in significantly worse shape. In college football, recruits go to wining programs and the teams who recruit the best win the most. Having all that talent and still falling from an elite level was a generational disaster on Coker’s part, one that no coach after him has been able to fix in spite of their best efforts. When you’re elite, you have to stay there, and if you fall behind, it’s extremely hard to get back to that level these days unless another major powerhouse falls from grace.

Most of Miami’s struggles are more reflective on the state of college football today than we want to admit. Programs like Tennessee, USC and Michigan are experiencing similar long term issues.

I’d rank them as

1. Coker
2. Richt
3. Shannon
4. Golden

5. Diaz

Diaz is at the bottom. He is just taking Canes football to a whole new level of awful.

Ok....Who's the tallest midget (no offense) is what that sounds like....Richt is the tallest midget in this case

If you clowns can’t tell that OP isn‘t a cane fan then throw yourselves off a cliff. It’s one thing to openly bash a **** admin and coaching staff with fellow cane fans, but to feed trolls that have never had any love for our team is beyond ****** stupid.
candycane strikes again

1. Richt
2. Shannon
3. Coker
4. Golden
5. Diaz (thus far)

I can't have Coker in the top 2, NC or not. He wrecked a dynasty. Shannon was a stubborn recruiter, etc., but he had solid moments. Golden was a poor cultural fit and overrated from his Temple 'we have more funding than any other AAC team but can't win a conference title' days.

Richt bottomed out badly last year due to nepotism and overall burn out, I think. He did get us to 9/10 wins in consecutive years before that taking over Golden's failure so that's why I have him number 1.

Diaz has been a total disaster so far, given how we have played, the total number of issues, the teams we have lost to or almost too given our talent, etc. Hopefully tonight he starts to move up the list.

Coker number 1🤣🤣🤣..Richt is best coach out of that bunch, hands down. I assume u putting Coker at one because of the natty..that’s fair, but if Coker, Golden, Shannon had been handed the keys to that talent they all hoist the trophy too...it’s wayyyy too early to judge manny tho..only on CIS

It’s not just because of his national title. To be honest, Coker’s first 5 teams (2001-2005) were probably all better than the 13 teams his predecessors coached. (2006-2019.) Maybe you could say the 2005 team was a wash with the 2017 team, but that’s about it.
