Rank Best Cane DTs Ever

cortez wins on name alone. what an awesome ****ing name

Cortez is the best pure DT. The Technique didn't matter.

For the rest, with the exception of Wilfork, technique mattered.

End of story.

Think before you respond...... LMAO

You're saying scheme mattered for Sapp? Due tell!

Ask yourself: What techniques/schemes would Sapp not excel at or struggle with?

Whatever you come up with, the answer is NONE for Cortez.

You're not telling me what Sapp couldn't do. What was Sapp's deficiency as a DT?

Let me make it really really simple for you. Sapp was not a 3-4 DT

Strictly on the field....Warren Sapp! Everyone else is fighting for second.

This!!!!! No disrespect to brown, maryland, tez, and wilfork...but sapp?????? Other than suh at nebraska, sapp was the only dt who i saw who literally took over a game...any game.....the game that comes to mind is that fsu game

Jerome Brown was a badass **** and Wilfork has been an animal in the nfl, but I've never seen anyone dominate a college game like Warren Sapp. Maryland clearly also in the conversation.

I guess I'd say Warren, then the other 3 tied for 2nd.
That list seems way incomplete. Were Don Smith, Eddie Edwards, Don Latimer DTs or DEs at UM? What about Jim Burt, Rubin Carter, or Dan Conners? Conners ended up a LB for the Raiders, but was a tackle at UM. Burt and Carter were NTs in the pros. Don't remember if they NTs or DTs at UM. The guys I've mentioned were light-years better than a lot of the guys on that list.

This subject really hits home for me. As great as Sapp was to me it's Jerome Brown and then everyone else. Jerome was a once a lifetime player and leader. I don't think I can find adequate words to articulate just how special he was.

If not for his tragic death, I firmly believe he would have gone down as the best to ever play the position. Jerome is my favorite Cane of all time. As an Eagles fan you can imagine how amazing it was for me when Philadelphia drafted Jerome. Those defensive lines the Eagles had with Jerome and Reggie White are to this day the best I have ever seen.

There are so many great Jerome Brown anecdotes I wouldn't know where to begin. Simply put Jerome Brown was the personification and the very essence of what we all refer to as Hurricane swagger. There will never be another Jerome Brown. RIP
