Quinton Flowers junior highlights SIAP

You guys are talking about Winky scrambling, but Roiser rushed for 1000 yards w/ 12 tds & had 2200 yards passing.

On top of that, Winky is being bashed for his completion percentage when Roiser's was 55%. 169-305

We need to get back in the running for this kid, you have to find room for him and treon and let them have a shot at qb.. I see what posters are saying about Malik and how he has a nice arm and is an excellent athlete but will he ever start at any position at miami besides catcher.. These other guys will have alot of value plus they are in our back yards would be a shame to see them contributing elsewhere

lol Ok i see ur point.... but look at the situation Miami already has Brad Kaaya in this class, Alin Eduoard, and Malik Rosier.

The question is who would you rather have: Flowers, Eduoard or Rosier? Flowers is the best player of the three, IMO.

Any chance that if Eduoards bolts we offer Flowers at QB? I mean, if we're willing to take 3, why on earth wouldn't we pick up Flowers if AE walks?

I don't think so, although I hope I'm wrong.

Actually the question is who would Coley and Golden rather have. That question has been clearly answered.

Do Flowers and Rosier seem to be the same type of QB?

Shorter in stature
Good Arms
Good Speed
Etc

I want Anquan Boldin, but we shouldn't take him as a QB. Those are valuable reps that could be going to our fourth-string quarterback. If it doesn't work out at quarterback, maybe he could play at another position. But what if he doesn't want to? Then -- god forbid-- he may transfer.

It's just not worth the risk.

Why is transferring so bad? plenty of kids transfer?

Your Sarcasm Detector isn't working.

All of the Quinton Flowers doubters are funny to me. He's going down as one of the greatest in Dade County history. 5TDs today vs. Gables

LULZ @ Pete not understanding the difference between out-athleting your way through high school and being able to do that in college and, more importantly, the NFL.

Oh I completely understand the difference. The thing that people don't understand about him is that he is working with next to nothing as far as offensive line and playmakers. He has Jovon Durante this year, but the amount of dropped passes, penalties, and flat-out mistakes made by his teammates last year was staggering. There are special athletes throughout sports who do unprecedented things at their stature, size, etc. and I think he can be one of those guys. Surround him with Stacy Coley, Johnnie Dixon, Joseph Yearby, Brandon Powell, and that offensive line and I think that would take his game to an even higher level. The funny thing is he isn't the most "athletic". He runs in the 4.7s and doesn't test necessarily well in combine/camp settings. He's just a great football player.

Here are the highlights of the game for people that didn't see him yesterday

here's the problem with Winky and I love the kid and enjoy watching him play, but real talk Pete how many times do you see him step back in the pocket and deliver a pass on time anticipating and/or throwing a wr open before he actually is. We can knock his oline and wr but he's playing sandlot football right now. At times he misses reads and then is left using his athletic ability to draw a play out in order to make the OMG play for the simple play he didn't see or trust. Being completely honest a lot of the plays he makes are mistake waiting to happen in college. It's great in theory to have a Denard Robinson playing qb for Miami when he's on and you see him making OMG plays on ESPN however but that type of inconsistency from the qb position kills your offense flow and timing. Ask Mich fans about the rollercoaster ride of the ND 2011 and ND 2012 games when Denard went from making video game plays all over the field to not being able to hit a square in or a seam route. His entire career was just that. We already went down that road before with Ryan Collins. No bueno. Until I see him start evaluating the defense before he has a man running wide open and making accurate intermediate throws and not just dip, dodge, chuck it long plays I'm not going to lose any sleep over the staff not offering him as a qb. Moxy can only win you so games and even then you need a lot of things to go your way for it to happen ie Tebow.

I have no problem with the staff being up front with the kid and offering him as an athlete and not as a QB. Flowers sounds dead set on playing QB; so much to the point that he would transfer before switching positions.

But how do you know he'd transfer?

I think that whole risk is overblown. Boldin stepped aside for a scrub like Chris Rix and didn't transfer. Tannehill played receiver for two years before becoming a first round quarterback. Jeff Godfrey played receiver for Blake Bortles, and Shoelace played RB for Devin Gardner. Those two guys had actually accomplished something at QB, and they still made the move eventually.

I'm just not seeing the downside with aggressively pursuing an elite football player who loves the U.
