Quick thought on the Stanford victory...

Very satisfying win. Obviously a slow start and still some thing’s to work on offensively, but this is how you follow a loss. Also pleased with the improvement on penalties. Keep it going!

I think miami mixed in some different run sets in 2nd half which helped out our run offense some. Not sure why we come out flat so often with Mario on some of these inferior opponents.

Maybe Mario and Dawson lack confidence in Beck which is why we haven't cut loose and really tried to open the offense more.

Let’s not forget last year’s offense. It scored a million points and was still physically dominant. That’s the ideal but we are far away for a few reasons. Need to build on the second half.

I’d like to see more tempo. Beck is a quick operator by nature.
Can we please have someone from the inner circle get through to Mario to adjust and bring flexibility to the offense to decrease stagnation? Will anyone step up?

Stanford is depleted by injuries and even before the injury bug they were trash. Not impressed.

Spreading the WR sets allowed us to soften the middle for those duo runs Mario loves.

The second half tonight looked a lot more like last year (in terms of SCHEME, before you kill me. NOT in terms of personnel or execution).

We were able to spread the defense and soften the box and that allowed us to attack those Duo gaps more effectively.

Someone needs to make sure he and Dawson remember we can run MORE inside if we start by spreading it out.

Seriously wonder if Beck's tendency to throw picks has affected Dawson's play calling.
yep its obvious. They rather play safe, no TO's and run a ton to wear the other team down and let the D do its job. Understandable strategy but wont work well against teams who can score (UL, SMU, Pitt...)

Now take away the multiple 1x explosives of:

- Toney's PRs (really good)
- Interceptions

Not as dominating of a win...

Still take it, but the engine wasn't firing on all cylinders like porsters want to believe...
How many porsters really believe things were firing on all cylinders? 7-7 at half should negate that thinking.
