Quick note on wr’s

But but but, multiple CIS mopes have told me that our returning WRs can't improve and that our only solution is to sign 3 or 4 high-NIL-value Portal WRs for a few years in a row...
Is it a great group? Nope, but there’s talent and different skill sets. Same with rb and te. Imo the skill guys are dramatically better.

while i got you on the horn, what's your impression on the cb room, seems like we flipped that position as well

I’ve heard from multiple people around UM the wr group is night and day better versus last year. More consistent and just a much better room. If you remember last year I was really down on the wr room after spring. There was many guys struggling picking up the system which was obvious as soon as the season started.

We all know this scheme will be much easier for them to make plays , get separation and better throwing windows for TVD. I’m on record saying I expect a big jump by the offense and wr improving is one of the reasons why.
Appreciate the good news Cribby. Looking forward to seeing the improvement. Go Canes 🏈

X is another one. We missed him bad after he went down. He’s the grown up in the room and just knows how to get open and cause separation. He just knows how to play the position and has a good connection with Tyler.
Honestly even if we had Jerry Rice and John Taylor out there last year the O still woulda been handcuffed... LOL!!!... In all seriousness having X back out there full strength will be a tremendous lift for the O.... I'm excited for what Dawson can do for us and everything I'm hearing thus far is super positive...

we may not have the 87 'Bomb Squad' or 'the Ruthless Posse', but I firmly believe this corp with Colby, X, George, Brashard, Ray Ray is more than good enough to be a highly productive unit in the ACC...

EDIT -- and Harrell is the wild card, if he can stay healthy and be the guy we think he could be...

Really counting on Restrepo for production and leadership.

It’s been reassuring how Mario has addressed areas of issue so far. Staff wise. Recruiting wise. Transfer portal. Positions that were bad, are improving. Not fully there yet.

But if we don’t show improvement this year (I’d be shocked personally) I have no hope in humanity.

TVD having more than 1 second to throw it will help those WR slot as well.
Yup. Last year was almost impossible for TVD to succeed with how pathetic our OL was and Gattis calling plays. OL "should be" much better and we now have a competent OC. If WRs are improved that's the cherry on top.

Yawnnn been hearing this the last 10 years every offseason lol let’s once the pads come on
stripes lighten GIF

And he seems like a dog blocking for the backs.

yeah, some of the posters looking green af ... crib ain't a god, but he said from jump last year the wr's were suspect ... his info and insight are legit
We heard it in spring and early in camp that the group was inconsistent and not instilling a lot of confidence. That all played true through the season.

For those keeping track

QB - Same/Better vs last year. Doubtful TVD can have as bad of a season as last year. And if he's healthy for the full season that's already a major improvement.
RB - Much improved depth and overall talent. Still, whether or not Chaney stays healthy may be the biggest improvement here. Luckily RB is one of the positions I really don't have much of any problem with True Freshman seeing immediate PT.
WR - Much Improved like Cribby is saying. No doubt the speed has majorly improved. And with X staying healthy, and Colby Young starting for the entire season, this may end up being the most improved position group which may be surprising since we haven't made any single major addition...
TE - Probably the one area on offense where there isn't a big improvement. Mallory was drafted. We all think Arroyo can be good, and there is zero doubt we've been recruiting studs. But Are they ready to step up?
iOL - Major Strength of this offense after getting Cohen, Lee, and having Jalen Rivers and Anez Cooper returning and further improving.
OT - Again Zero question TALENT has taken a massive leap. Will that talent step up and be consistent is really the only question. And if Zion is healthy that at bare minimum results in a large improvement of this OLines floor over last year.

OC - Gattis -> Dawson is also a major improvement, and going to be much easier for our talent to play to their strengths.
