Aside from not saying and/or twittering anything off-the-wall, Fournette won’t do any ranking of his six finalists. When asked about Miami, which, according to recruiting services, had not been on his radar until he included the Hurricanes on his list, Fournette said, “I’ve been liking them; I just haven’t said much about it.”

Better than nothing and you don't even have to worry about him recruiting for other team...

Golden has had a kid commit to us or have interest in us out of no where since he started. Kirby and Dobard committed out of no where. AQM last year and even McCord to a certain extent. This could be that kid this year. That being said, I fully expect this kid to go to LSU or Bama...but ****, you can't win if you don't play

Reuben foster said the same exact thing last year, that being said, hope fournette actually makes the trip down here...supposedly the OV was a big reason AQM ended up down here

I like our chances. Sure, the smart money says Bama or L$U, but we got DJ Williams after we were his last choice for a visit. DJ was the consensus #1 HS prospect and he picked Miami when we were just finally starting to build depth after the NCAA gave us sanctions/schollie reductions.

Everyone thought Arthur Williams was headed to Oklahoma, but still ended up at Miami.

I'm not saying Fournette is a lock by any means, but I trust Al and staff with this one.

Go 'Canes

Rueben was trying to get Trooper a job lol. Gotta take care of the money guy! I know absolutely zero about this Fournette kids recruitment but can't hurt for him to visit.

According to that article in the OP, Fournette's Dir of Communications at his HS is the daughter of Alabama's recruiting coordinator.

Foster played games with everyone from the beginning, Fournette is just quiet. Got to figure he is LSU with Bama having its usual chance at every big time RB. That said, LSU is actually fading and the Canes have some recruiting mo. James and Miller are making noise in NFL and Duke is blowing up big time. O line is very solid with strong new beasts coming. Art is a legend and Bama lost its oline coach. I think we have punchers chance. Golden fears no one. Kid is from New Orleans. That is a lot more like Miami than Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa. Kid can live in Coral Gables and be minutes from the next best thing to Bourbon Street. We are a long shot but have some shot if he comes.

Two thoughts:

1. How nice for Alabama. "I'm just here to see my baby. OH, hey Leonard!"
2. I agree with Hater's take on New Orleans. It's kind of like what the great Al McGuire used to say about recruiting to Marquette, "If I went to recruit a kid, and there was grass in front of his house, I thought we were screwed. But if there was concrete, yeah we got a shot here."

I kinda think of Seantrel Henderson's recruitment. I remember never being mentioned, then we had his last visit and it took till the last hour before his announcement to pick USC, (rumored he was a heavy Miami lean). Win 10-12 games this season and have a good showing from Duke and a phenomenal visit, chances can increase quick.

To throw my 2 Cents in there, I doubt the kid goes to Bama. If any of you remember Bama just signed 4 highly rated running backs last yr.

Difference was Foster was in January so we knew we had no chance but nobody knows how close UM is to Fournette

People can say whatever dumb **** they want about our SFLA recruiting but I've learned not to doubt this staff when it comes to selling this program and city to OOS recruits.

Quan fell in love with Miami when he got here. That's why you don't complain about "free trips" especially since people usually don't know what the **** they are talking about in the first place.

and Leonard Fournette would force most of these guys to transfer b/c he's better then all of them...

I think he wants to see what this Miami team is going to look like on the field this year...... who knows once Miami starts moving up the top 25 rankings and the media is slurping us again he really could start considering Miami is a legit option to end up at.

Idk why any top rb would go there right now. Reps will be very slim in practice so it will be difficult to show what you got. They really only play 2 rbs even though they are like 8 deep every year literally. Fournette would look and say that he could start but why have to go through that many rbs and if he struggles just a little he wont play makes no sense

And I'm sure if .... and i mean IF this kid ever committed so us ESPN would drop him from the #1 player to a mid-teens guy.
