ND's starting TE (Raridon) is pretty good. He's a senior, productive, big target (6'7'), likely makes an NFL roster. Along with Love, I expect Raridon to be desirable option/check down for their first-time QB. So, for all you Xs and Os guys, in Hetherman's defense, who covers the TE, and how do we match up?

Good topic. Not sure if it’s completely related but I asked D$ about Cam Pruitt and he said he’d play a lot because he’s our best cover guy

Assuming that’s in a TE type role but also at 6-7 Cam is undersized a bit

We don't know what he is as a TE as he had 11 catches for 90 yards last season. The star or Nickel will cover him in our 4-2-5. If play them in a 4-3, the Sam will get him. Are we playing man or zone?

Based on the latest from D$, nickel is most likely Keionte Scott and Isaiah Taylor, maybe Ewald or Brown at times. Whether zone or man, ND likes using the TE for a short, underneath pass as a checkdown option, often delayed follwing a light in-line block that allow them to get lost in LOS traffic. Big TEs can turn those into big gains, convert third downs. Louisville did this to us successful a lot last year. If the nickel owns that coverage, do our guys have the size and length to defend a 6'7" target? In Hetherman's system, do they get help from a LB or safety?
