Question re: Chaney and Knighton

It's so funny to see people turn so quickly on Chaney, the most loyal & dedicated Cane in the class, the exact kinda of kid that yall wish every recruit would be like...

Chaney is the #5 ranked RB in the nation, 6th ranked in the state of Florida & 35th ranked overall in the nation with 98.1 rating, he's the highest rated RB we landed since Duke.

LOL @ any RB in the NATION not named Zach Evans or Bijan Robinson being better than him.

Who has turned on Chaney?
I see many complimentary posts on the kid, and deservedly so.
Am I on the wrong thread?

saying you think knighton will be better is not turning on Chaney. come on fam

I think it depends on the offense. If we keep Penos then it’s Chaney. If we get amore Spread OC Knighton as to me is the better pass catcher. So I guess ultimately you’re right because I don’t want Penos anywhere near this offense next year.

Don’t sleep on Don’s hands. He lined up at WR frequently for Belen in their very infrequent spread sets.

The things I’ve seen Chaney do live behind an offensive line the collective weight of Navaughn Donaldson would shock y’all. Most of his tape is the long runs and crazy spin cycles but the impressive stuff to me was the 5-8 yard runs after contact that didn’t make the tape.

For those who have seen these guys two play...

Do their styles of running differ? Is one more a power back and the other more the speed back type?

Do they resemble other backs we’ve had or any backs in other programs or the NFL?

I’m just trying to get a handle on what to expect...

Thanks...
Knighton - Portis
Chaney - McGahee

It is, because those same people weren't saying that before Knighton committed.

If Knighton didn't commit to Miami no one would be saying he'll be better than Chaney.

I did, long ago saying I liked Knighton better. We're not talking about night and day better, but then again I've also said I don't see this can't miss back with Chaney.

There’s no need to discuss who’s going to be better, people did the same thing with mallory and Jordan . It doesn’t matter they are on the same team

Ultimately you're right. Happy to have both. I haven't seen it with some recruits that others did in the past and that's fine. Both are very highly regarded and we'll see what happens.

If Chaney isn't a can't miss, then neither is Knighton.

247 doesn't give a RB from Dade that high a rating for no reason, especially one that's steadfastly committed to Miami.

Liberty, does it really matter how great these backs are when you run a pro style offense behind an OLine that gets its shytte beat in week in and week out?

Frankly, Im tired of folks hyping skill players and recruits when football games are won on the line of scrimmage. And we haven't won the LOS in 15 years

Yeah it matters, elite rbs find a way to stand out regardless. Cook did it at FSU and they had a bad oline his time there. Each of our lead backs the last 3 seasons averaged 6 yards per carry which is pretty good. That’s the importance of having true difference makers at the position, they can turn something into nothing on any given play.
