Can't disagree. Go CanesHe's the cover boy of the article by Bleacher Report.
I don’t think this is either. This is saying he sucked last year and needs to be better this year. I don’t think there are high expectations for us this year at all tbhView attachment 245887
I wanted zero preseason accolades or high expectations for this team. I want them to be underestimated and then over deliver so I can for once in my “real” adult life be truly happy at the end of the season

I’ve gone back and forth on this very topic as well. Ultimately, I think he’s got enough there to get within that threshold of 8-10 wins (max).I'm still very concerned that he has nobody to throw the ball to but I do think the improvement up front, the scheme, and the fact that he was SEVERELY humbled last year is going to result in far superior QB play.
I just hope someone steps up in the WR room.
Lot of ifs man lol usually when its this many questions it doesn’t turn out wellI’ve gone back and forth on this very topic as well. Ultimately, I think he’s got enough there to get within that threshold of 8-10 wins (max).
As we saw in the Spring game, a healthy Restrepo helps the offense as a whole, but it’s no doubt his security blanket. He’s probably a top three-ish slot guy in the conference, I think? He seemed comfortable trusting Ray-Ray too (who I think will have a very fine freshman campaign and showed good wiggle in open space, something that’s been lacking at the position for far too long). Between those two, I like where we stand against opposing nickel guys. TE has to be the best spot on paper with Skinner, the highly anticipated return of Arroyo (speaking of, @JustAFanHTX how’s he coming along?), and Riley Williams ready in the wings. All three can flash outside the hashes if need be, and I think Dawson will utilize mismatches with those three very early and often. Big bodied targets with good hands and good speed/strength in traffic.
So it’s really going to come down to the outside guys. Colbie probably has one spot locked down, but he needs to take that next step and become the bonafide #1 guy. Hopefully those speed measurable updates are true, because if he’s that fast now…he’s going to be an absolute problem. 1K potential for sure.
Between George, Kirk, Horton…someone needs to step up. Can’t rely on Harrell given his injury past. Anything we get out of him I’ll be happy about, he’s blazing fast when healthy and opens the offense up completely. Just need to bubble wrap him til September. I think Redding and Ladson are relegated to third string/red zone guys at best, wouldn’t be surprised to see one hit the portal post fall. My money is on George putting it all together and cementing himself as WR2, and if he does…TVD should have no excuses.
He’s full go. Should be the starter.I’ve gone back and forth on this very topic as well. Ultimately, I think he’s got enough there to get within that threshold of 8-10 wins (max).

If there weren’t ifs, we’d be talking about for sure winning 9-10 games.Lot of ifs man lol usually when its this many questions it doesn’t turn out well
Not talking about the entire team, im specifically responding to what u said about the wr room. But i agree overall, i really think if the wrs step up 8 games is the minimum unless we just *** off games like we did vs unc and a&m. This team is clearly better, i think we will have a good yearIf there weren’t ifs, we’d be talking about for sure winning 9-10 games.
FSU had a lot of ifs, and it turned out ok for them. Washington, TCU, Michigan along the outside and QB, USC with their team outside of QB and WR, Oregon with Bo Nix/new personnel, UNC with Maye, South Carolina with Rattler and new guys, Tennessee, LSU, etc.
The other end of the spectrum is the Miami, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Texas A&M, etc.
It’s just the name of the game. I think there’s way less question marks than last season (when you objectively look at it instead of the sunshine slurping a lot of us, me included, were a part of). If grey areas like DT, LB, WR go poorly…then we’re winning 6-7 games and Mario’s seat is hot (amongst the fanbase, not the program). If it goes well, 9, maybe 10 wins could happen).
I think we fall somewhere in the middle and have an 8-4 regular season, hopefully a bowl win as 9-4 looks much better.
Behind that offensive line he’s going to have a HUGE year
Somewhere in the middle, i think the drastic shift from laslee to gattis in such a short time hurt. And then u factor in the qb coach probably not even knowing the system fully and not getting along with the oc that only makes things worse.Random TVD/offense thoughts.
Which is more likely. TVD's 2021 season was a fluke, or a bad OC hampered his ability?
The OL is definitely better this year and has a little depth..
We have a dozen receivers and several of them are new. Several should do better without an anchor like Gattis around their necks.
We have a new OC not named Gattis.
With a decent OL and several good RB's, we're a genuine run threat, which helps the receivers.
It wouldn't surprise me if we have a very good season, but I don't think anyone can say for certain how it will go because so many variables have changed.
