QB Room

I saw a video about Jarren has been looking at other schools and the other two are staying. I’d be ok with that.

Jarren skipped practice once this year and once last year. Between seasons he looked to transfer, so he’s done that at least once (others have said twice). Yes he hasn’t left yet but it seems he keeps sticking one foot out the door. You cannot have your QB doing that. He needs to be your offensive leader and setting the tone for the entire room. Our QB room has called out many times over in the media, even by coaches, so it’s no secret what’s going on.

I have more respect for someone who transfers than I do for someone who threatens to. Transferring shows decisiveness. You've looked at the situation and decided its best to move on. Threaten is a demand for attention. Failing to carry it out is like accepting a counter offer. It rarely works out well for both parties.

I think there is a misconception about how much work backups do/should put in. As fans, we say things like “he is one injury away from being the starter. He should be working his *** off to make sure he is ready.”

Reality is, these are 20 year old kids that are stars on campus. Of course they are gonna party and chase girls, just like all of us did.

I never blasted Malik for the quote where he said he hadn’t studied the playbook enough before Kaaya got hurt. I didn’t expect him to. Not everyone wants to hold a clipboard in anticipation of a coaching career because they can’t make the league.

So I’m fine with backups who need an injury to see the field slacking off. It’s not the same to be the backup QB as it is to be the 3rd safety or DE - the qb is only coming in for mop up duty or in the event of an injury. Every other position rotates, to some degree.

That is all to say that the QB room must be cleaned of the cancerous “me” guys. The ones that pout when they don’t get PT. From all reports, this is Jarren.

Jarren was my guy last season and I would’ve been ok with him as our starter next year. But if he is gonna *****, skip practice, etc, he needs to go. I bet he would have already if King didn’t wait until last night to commit.

Kosi and Tate seem to have accepted being backups. If you want to party or chase your gf around the country, go ahead. Just don’t be surprised when you get suspended and passed on the depth chart. But I’m fine with both of those guys competing for the backup role. I don’t think Jarren will accept it, so he should be shown the door.

Kosi should transfer to somewhere like usf who needs a qb or mizzou. Hope he don’t waste his last few years being a backup

i hope Jarren sticks it out and reinvents himself since he has more time on the clock than perry left but is what it is at the end of the day.

Perfect situation for van dyke to learn under a veteran qb and redshirt.
Nah, hopefully Kosi stays. Unless he can grad transfer it really doesn't make any sense for him to leave at this point. He can be the backup for a year and bounce after that. Jarren is a RS Soph. He's definitely gone.

If Kosi is issues free and looks good with Lashlee throughout the year he has a good chance of being the starter next year.

Again, when did Jarren quit and leave Miami?

He's still playing and he's still on the squad.

Y'all want to eviscerate JW for being immature and missing a practice. At the same time y'all are more than happy to stick up for the kid that did actually quit his team entirely.

Doesn't seem very consistent by even CIS porster standards. But CIS does what it does.
Welcome to the board, Mr. Williams!
