I know yall give Gaby **** but go listen to his pod with Lake from yesterday. Lake is ALWAYS a Debbie downer. Which is cool, he tells it like it is and errs on the side of caution. I have never, literally ever, heard him talk like this. He’s basically saying he can’t even wrap his head around the level we’re recruiting right now. It’s just a never ending parade of the best athletes anyone has ever seen into the Hecht right now.

The country really let Mario Cristobal put on a U polo and drive a brinks truck with a natty appearance riding shotgun into these kids cribs. It’s gonna be a REALLY fun next few months.

UK I can understand. New coach smell, who is an offensive guy, and they are investing $ now. Same w AU, potential to see the field early and play big time ball in a fun offense. He’s all but guaranteed to play at his other options. We have started three straight portal QBs.

I would be thinking the same if I was a HS QB. But counterpoint - it’s not like we brought in portal QBs over 5 star talents or guys killing it in practice. We brought in portal QBs over Emory twice and now Nickel (who could be good but he was 3rd string behind Emory and reports last spring were not great).

Is he? So has FSU, AU and with Kentucky 2 of their last 3 being portal guys and their 2026 starter is a young portal guy. I don’t even care to check Purdue. Oregon has 3 straight as well. Why are we the only one’s talked about though?

I always felt like Lake was the straight shooter and called it like it is, erring on side of caution because of past results. I can take that because when he says its good, it usually is.. Good balance with the koolaid most send out..

Now if you just want a wet bed to lay in, listen to Ferman and Matt, I guess since Matt got on beat right when things got bad and has been on it last 20 years, he just hates life..

Its like we have portal guys and people just make up reasons why it will hurt us.. They said high school QBs would hate it but listen to Abrams interview and its a DRAW for him, Mencl the same (these are the TOP level of QBs in nation, not projects anymore, THANK YOU PORTAL!).. Now guys are saying it will hurt crootin bro, hurt skill guys bro..

Portal QBs is the gift that keeps on giving, everything happening positive to the football team starts with portal QB these last two seasons.. Its like gusy would rather be 7-5 if we could do it with high school QBs than be in playoff race.. Weird AF.. Last year championship with ND-OSU was two portal QBs.. This year same.. Portal QB won heisman and back 2 back #1 overall NFL pick

The argument isn’t where he will sign. The argument is “better situation”. Miami hasn’t started a QB they recruited under Mario since Emory and that was by necessity. We’ve started 24, 25, and now 26 seasons with a portal QB. Abrams has a better situation (for him to play) at UK than at Miami.

I get that but homeboy isn’t starting as a true freshman weighing 185lbs for a team that we hope has NC aspirations. He’s not seeing the field for us at least his R-So year.
