I know there are staff limitations and Coley is supposedly the QB guru but I wonder if adding a QB coach is something that would ever be considered? With a future glut of young arms it seems like now would be the opportune time to get them a position specific coach. We missed the boat on St. Kenny but there is another former Canes great sitting up in West Palm Beach that I'm sure could grasp Coley's offense...

Actually, I didn't really want to go down that road but you make a valid point. Gun to head, I move BC back to TE's and lose Scott if a Steve Walsh or someone of that pedigree would come in now.
 
Out of curiosity/ignorance why would we have to drop a coach. Are we at an NCAA limit or something?

This is what I found from a few seasons ago. Not sure if you can "hide" a coach under a different title but as of now we have Alfred and 9 assistants and 4 grad assistants.

NCAA Article 11: Conduct and Employment of Athletics Personnel:

11.7.2 Football Bowl Subdivision - There shall be a limit of one head coach, nine assistant coaches and two graduate assistant coaches who may be employed by an institution in bowl subdivision football.

The boat is still in port, Kenny Kelly is still available!

The limit is 9 when there are 10 position coaches & coordinators? Further evidence the NCAA has its head up its ******* ***. Is there any doubt that these idiots simply miscounted when it came to setting coaching limits? I can just see Emmert and his ******* clown show cabinet sitting at a a fisher price plastic table, writing these rules on an etch-a-sketch, and counting out the amount of position coaches on their fingers.

I'm sure in their small minds it's to attempt to "even the playing field" so some programs don't have a staff of 30 coaches. Comical that they would impose a rule like that but allow schools to spend unlimited amounts of money on facilities and head coach salaries though. Would almost be like the Ivy League saying that its member schools can only have x amount of tenured professors in the chemistry departments.
