Put your name on it

I'm not too big on all of this board drama about the coaches, banners, etc...but why all the whining about a "call out thread"? People get called out here all the time. So what. OP asked a simple question, and gave a board-specific reason for asking (with some quotes). If you're in here and posting but haven't answered the question, but instead want to give OP **** about the thread, I'd say that's pretty weak and some of you seem a little mad. But whatever.

And I'm pulling for a Canes win, for the record.

I'd be happy to believe it, but many of them won't come in here and fess up either way. If they really want AG gone, then why would they root for Miami? It kills their hopes of having him gone. I'm just trying to understand the psychology around here, because it doesn't make any sense.

Because they're not obliged to answer to you or your thread. How is that not clear? Where is niner and several other posters talking about us 'being them boyz' and **** like that before the season. Just as many chicken **** people on the other side of this argument than the people you are trying to call out.

Also, wanting the head coach gone AND the team to win arent mutually exclusive concepts. I went to a UGA/FL party this past weekend and the Florida fans were ecstatic at beating UGA but still want Muschamp fired. The issue comes down to that we play in a much worse conference that we cant even win the division in, and the coaching staff, ADs, some fans, and BoTs seem fine with a ceiling of 9 wins and not having won the ACC yet. It appears at 30,000 feet that Florida cares more about football and winning championships than Miami does.

I love the call out threads. OP should stick with tormenting DBC.

RIP DBC.

So, who are you rooting for Nov 15?

As you are keen on digging up old posts, you tell me.

Nah, not worth it. I'm looking for porsts, not porsters. I haven't attached names to any of the quotes, because they deserve the benefit of the doubt to have changed their mind. So far, not a single person has come here and said they're rooting for F$U (although Duvalco has basically said both, so I'm not sure where he actually stands). They've either changed their mind or are too scared to put their name on it.

They have no obligation to do anything, but they weren't shy about saying that they're rooting against Miami before. Why are they shy now? The only thing that has changed is wins against 3 crappy teams. AG hasn't shown he can win a big game. I understand why people want him gone, but winning means he won't be gone. So, do they want him gone, or do they want to beat F$U? I think those two things are mutually exclusive in the short-term. The only way he gets fired this year is if the team loses out. A win over F$U guarantees he stays. Something has to give...

LOL, you don't think posters are seeing through your BS call out thread? You really think you are that clever... smh

If there was any chance of them firing AG it would have started with losing to VT and then UNC.

So yes this is a stupid thread.

Who you rooting for on Nov 15?

LOL, like I stated you are not clever. Up until when, GT loss, you were one of the queen leaders sucking golden off.

I personally would never cheer against the Canes, but others that do were rooting against golden, not the U.

OK, now we're getting somewhere. So you're rooting for the Canes on Nov 15. So we beat F$U, and all of the dreams of AG getting fired this season go bye-bye. You're OK with that?

WTF does it mean to root against Golden anyway? How can you root for the U, but not Golden? If the U is successful, then AG goes nowhere. If AG fails, the U fails. The maths don't be additioning.

Nice avoidance there chicken little. When exactly did you stop sucking Golden off?

Come on now, "Man up" as you say...

again, stupid call out thread.

Your issue is you were wrong what for 3.5 years and wouldn't know good football if it hit you upside the head.

I've never met the man, so I can't help you there. I'm no expert, but I think I can recognize good football when I see it. I was hopeful at the beginning of the year, subdued but still holding out hope after L'Ville, skeptical after Nebraska, and outraged after GT. AG has proven nothing. I haven't hidden that POV, but I sure as **** would never root for Miami to lose.

So, now, you say you're rooting for Miami on Nov 15, but you realize that beating F$U guarantees he won't get fired. Are you willing to accept that?

LOL, and round and round you go. You're like a puppy chasing his tail... Winning against VT and UNC saved his job. Winning or losing against FSU has no effect unless we get utterly blown out and he goes passive and hides in the shell.

I don't necessarily think the first part is true. Get blown out by F$U, drop one of UVa and Pitt, and lose again in the toilet bowl game....I think all of the UNC and VT goodwill would quickly be forgotten. But, beat F$U, and it's over. He's staying. You're on record that you never root against the Canes, but beating F$U...well, no need to repeat yet again. I guess I can only assume that beating F$U makes you OK with keeping AG for at least another year, because that's the only logical thing to take from it.

I like the way you think. I think that most succinctly frames the entire problem here.

I want Golden gone. Gone, gone, gone.

So can I put you down as the first one to admit that they're rooting for F$U? For the record, I don't think there's necessarily any shame in that. If you're passionate about wanting AG gone, it's the only thing that makes sense. It makes a lot more sense than saying you want AG gone, but are rooting for Miami to win on Nov 15 (especially after all of the people saying they're rooting against Miami until AG is gone).

It's a moot distinction. We'll lose by 14. I won't like it, but it probably kicks the stool out from under Al's feet.

Guess I'm a glass half full kinda guy on this.

Maybe because no Miami fan wants to lose to FSU under any circumstances.

Are you too stupid to see that? There's a reason nobody has come in here and said they want to lose to FSU.

Are we actually still talking about this? Hilarious.

Golden was never in as much danger as this board tried to pretend. The administrators and top posters here may have thought they had inside info. They had nothing. They pumped up everything they desperately wanted to believe to absurd level and carried a huge chunk of slurpers with them. It defied all common sense. Sorry, but as a handicapper I rely on base logic instead of twisting and turning to every apparently shifting variable. Republicans will win big tomorrow night because Obama's approval rating is lousy and the out party invariably wins midterms. Obama was a cinch in 2012 because he was in the most favorable spot in American politics as an incumbent whose party had been in power only one term. Nothing else mattered. Guys like Chris Matthews evaluate every late shift but it's nothing but noise. The foundational aspects determined the result long ago. Likewise with Golden he simply had built up too much good will and benefit of a doubt within the administration to be in jeopardy in 2014. It was a different story with D'Onofrio but now he may survive minus disaster down the stretch.

Attending the Virginia Tech game really helped my clarity on the Golden situation. When I mentioned to their fans early in the game that many Canes fans were actually rooting for Virginia Tech, and every other opponent on our schedule, in determination to get Golden fired, they laughed and one guy a few seats to my right offered an awesome summation: "Your fans aren't too bright, are they? Golden isn't going anywhere."

To see who's willing to say that they're rooting for F$U. No trick in that.

Maybe we'll lose by 14. Maybe by 40. Maybe the stars align, Crablegs gets arrested for public indecency/fondling a crab/illegal use of duct tape/bestiality, and we beat them. Then what?

if we play like we did the last three game we have a good shot to beat the,/ knock of Winston. Hopefully AG doesn't play like a coward and go back to bend but don't break crap. Play to win not to lose.

Ah, you're a vocal one around here. Do you want us to lose to F$U? That's probably your only chance at AG getting fired.

No, I don't and if AG calls the same type of attacking Style D and we lose I would stand behind him.

So they were just blowing smoke up all our asses when they said that they're rooting for Miami to lose out? I mean, it wasn't just one person saying that. Look a few pages back. I found a bunch of them without really even looking very hard.
