Protect College Sports Act [formerly “SCORE Act” thread]

No surprises here

My surprise is at the 22 ask. Leads me to believe:

Option 1. All four of these schools enter the B1G as a block, ACC does or does not implode, ND exits the acc as an affiliate member asap, if not by 2037, when the contract ceases, and would maintain an independent status regardless of the ACC’s implosion and its preferred opponents entering the B1G.

You don’t ask for 22 if you haven’t factored in what ND would do in the case of a decimated ACC; since the B1G is at 18.

This path suggests SEC interest, from our side the ACC4 — specifically UNC + Clemson, is next to zero. Given the fact that ESPN backs both conferences, it’s likely mutual non-interest. Makes sense.

Option 2. Miami + FSU as well as Clemson + UNC are willing to be the frontmen for the fire.

Miami + FSU to the B1G, alongside Stanford + ND if the 22 cap holds.

Clemson + UNC to the SEC, with space for four more, at the SEC’s discretion + willing dissenters (not guaranteed) of the ACC; IMO: UVA + GT priority uno then a choice/preference of VT/NC State or Louisville/SMU.

TLDR: if there were a mutually agreed upon plan for these 4, or even 2 of the 4, to enter the SEC—there would be zero need for the letter in the first place. 20 would suffice.
