Has there ever been anything like this in American history? Does anyone have any comparisons? It’s quite incredible.

I know of the decades long fight to establish minimum wages and maximum weekday working hours; however, I can’t quite recall ever reading about a united front like this to suppress wages on such a large scale, even inflation adjusted for past times.

Obviously the ncaa is the ncaa etc but money went out in the open after the FBI / Supreme Court decisions and so forth …. Not talking about a union wanting more pay & power because that’s not close enough of an equivalent imo.

They aren’t actually employees so they aren’t getting any type of workers rights consideration.

I don’t know how it would work, but they have to find a way to break the two revenue generating sports off into their own entities. Then they can drop the student aspect altogether, make the players employees and allow for collective bargaining.

Yeah, it’s just tough to all put together but i mean I’ve never seen or read about the government ever coming in and saying money has to stop going to these people but not all of these other people around them in the same industry; CBA or not. Just the attempt to do it even if not successful, never seen anything like it.

Agents aren’t going to go gently into the dark night i know that much. thank goodness for that
 
Why does it seem like the NFL doesnt give two ***** about this bill? You would think they would support less transfers and less NIL money overall to get kids to keep entering the draft sooner rather than now that they come back to college more.

This bill along with the 24 team playoff will kill the sport imo and the NFL is just watching and letting them do it.

That way Bama, LSU and UGA can get back to their old ways of cash in McDonald’s bags. ESPN is desperate for it as well. They quietly donated $1.7 million to lobby for the bill to pass. Because if the SEC gets firmly passed by the Big 10 (and maybe the ACC eventually, if Clemson and FSU have a resurgence at some point), ESPN stands to lose a whole lot of money.
