Protect College Sports Act [formerly “SCORE Act” thread]

If the legislation passed and was signed into law with the 180-day window provision, UM and FSU would have the exit fee financed before they play this year, if not sooner.

ND gets $50M a yr for football + $18M from ACC for other sports.

Miami would be lucky to get $40-45M from football and all the other sports.

ND also plays a pretty garbage schedule, which massively negates the power of their brand.

Miami playing an 8 or 9 game SEC or Big 10 schedule during that 5 year period, and potentially filling in other games with other valuable independents, would produce plenty of revenue for us to survive and thrive during that 5 year period.

B1G TV numbers were not good in 2025 either. It may not be a slam dunk that the B1G gets the kind of $$$ in the next TV deal many are expecting if things keep going this way. The $EC did provide the numbers and are underpaid in comparison to the B1G though.

disagree becuase some of those players had the ncaa done the right thing and changed the rule for 2022 players earlier would have stayed in school and not tried out when not drafted or wouldn't even have declared for draft. ncaa could have avoided all of this

Truer words have never been said. NCAA could have avoided EVERYTHING so they have gone to the courts and now the US Congress to fix their ****.......which is just more kicking the can down the road until later.

NBC is clearly unhappy and I don’t get the sense CBS is thrilled. It feels like the Big Ten is about two brands short if they want to keep three major partners (plus they need to fix their dog**** non conference scheduling).

their deal will go up. with or without nbc.

big ten network still makes BANK, more than sec network if i recall and the business relatiohship is different

XII/ACC Schools: Utah, BYU, Miami, OKState, and FSU. . . + ND?

No vote before recess; The Senate does not return until September 14, and is only scheduled to be in session for 14 days before the election (the House is only in session for 12 days pre-election after Senate returns)

If the Kawhi Leonard situation has taught us anything..it’s that programs will absolutely find a way around any proposed “hard cap”. That’s for **** sure. The SEC cheated for over a decade..so people just trust them all of a sudden to straighten up and fly right? 🙄.

Switching conferences is a meh subject for me. It’s like the “Adidas or Nike” subject that keeps coming up on this site. As long as we keep winning and are relevant and are a national brand..does it really matter? We will get viewership regardless. When we are hitting on all cylinders..the brand is bigger than any conference anyway. Problem is..we were a laughing stock for 20 years so fans have forgotten how the hype machine comes to us when we are that ****..
 
I don't think it would be prudent to play in the Big Ten, simply due to geography. Our away games would be outside of a typical 1-4pm window, and we'd be going to Oregon, Washington, California and our closest games are in, not sure, but NY or Iowa?

Send Missouri in the Big Ten and we take their spot in the SEC and make sure we play the Gators every dam year.

I think at 20+ teams there’d be clear geographically set schedules with 1-2 crossover games per year that would essentially take the place of our ooc schedule e.g. replace a Utah home and home with Oregon as a conference game etc
