If the PCSA somehow made it into law this fall (not saying it will, but just for discussion's sake), we'd be looking at next spring as the deadline for the Canes to file our exit notice with the ACC in order to avoid 5 years in solitary confinement

Change "state of Florida" to "ESPN and SEC bank accounts" in No. 1 and that's why I've got this sneaking suspicion we end up with Greg Sankey as our next commissioner

I knew when gusy started coping with ACC is not that bad, we were not even close to being honest.. Best bet this thing dies, ACC is a dead man walking, league was sold out long time ago

And the gap between the P2 and the rest of us is only going to widen. P2 are BOTH due for new media deals before the ACC can renegotiate. They may end up DOUBLING what the ACC programs get when they get their new deals.
 
Flugaur's on a live right now about this and gave some interesting speculation so far:

1. BIG was not in support of the 19 teams and 5 yr independent time period constraints in the bill but could not fight it. They were more focused on getting other antitrust concessions from the bill and needed other entities to fight the 19 and 5 numbers. Those entities are now fighting.
2. He believes that regardless if the bill passes both the BIG and SEC are ready to make quick strikes (2027 time period). Essentially neither conference wants to be handcuffed to what congress dictates in terms of their member institutions.
3. Stated that the BIG is not in ND or bust mentality.

This. I don’t think people realize how crucial getting into the Big X is for Miami’s future. We can’t afford to have everyone else making nearly three times as much as we do. Schools like Rutgers and Vanderbilt shouldn’t be bringing in more revenue than Miami. That gap only makes it harder to compete at the highest level.

As expected, this bill is totally ****ed, and rightfully so.

Would be a home run- he fights for his schools like a maniac- would be a complete 180 from this **** show.

I may be in the minority here, but I would love to land in the SEC. Even if it’s overrated, the perception still matters and selfishly I want the travel experience of playing at their “SEC stadiums” and beating their asses.

The SEC is still the overall best athletic conference- even if football is down. They excel at every sport they operate in.
