Protect College Sports Act [formerly “SCORE Act” thread]

This thing isn’t passing and that’s a good thing for college football and for the University of Miami. Maybe a failed vote on the second BS thing they’ve tried to push through Congress will finally wake these universities up and the NCAA and get with some collective bargaining if they ever want a deal to be put in place. Anything other than that is pure BS and we’ll get defeated in court.

I hold the same hope, but these commissioners and schools seem to just love kicking the can down the road until lawsuits force the requisite changes.

There is one guy on X saying the B1G took a "soft vote" on Georgia Tech. Anybody's guess if he actually knows anything. Even though it's essentially the heart of SEC territory being in Atlanta is still a great thing for the media package, and travel, etc. GT also fits academically. And they would likely be willing to come in at a reduced share for the 1st media cycle. All together it makes a lot of sense, with Miami of course.

So you mean to tell me that something our beloved & totally not racist president and Republican party came up with only benefits the good ole boy schools and tries to undercut Miami's momentum and future prospects because to **** with Miami and all those minorities?

I was thinking the same thing about the Dem party an it’s predecessor. How can they support anything that advances the lives of minorities with their long history of supporting slavery and segregation. To include our totally not racist former president Biden and his even more not racist historical comments over the years.

I’m sure there’s a ton of politics/maneuvering that we’re not privy to but I hate that we haven’t announced that we’re leaving.

I’d hate for this stupid bill to gain momentum and we get stuck in the ACC.
It won’t, it’s not passing. This isn’t the first time Sabans done this lobbying nonsense. He’s been doing it the past three seasons.

Do you like having men's tennis, CC, track & diving? No who cares those are wussie sports! Ok how about the baseball team would you like to keep that? No the nepotism has killed the once great program. Ok the men's basketball team??? Because without a bill they are all gone.

Every non-revenue men's sport will be eliminated. The only reason the women's sports aren't is Title IX you know an Act of Congress! And because of Title IX men's basketball is in danger as well.

This bill won't pass. But a bill is coming in the future that will pass.

It will have revenue sharing and a salary cap like the NFL. Some form of protection/requirement for Olympic sports. And final conference realignment where UCLA and Rutgers aren't in the same conference.

The BIG's greed is coming back to bite them and they are going to be forced to add/share revenue with schools they had no intention of adding. The bill isn't going to let what happened to WSU and OSU happen to 30 schools where the BIG and SEC take 40 teams and leave 30 P5 schools left out.

The PCSA is almost certainly dead unless you believe this cause you can’t do **** is gonna do something in a Lame duck session.

The Senate doesn’t vote till September 14. The house was already going to be out in October for campaigning which would’ve left two weeks to get it through committee past with all the amendments and then reconciled with the Senate.

Which is not gonna happen

But what if I told you the reason why the house just got adjourned might have been tied to the Epstein files?

Thomas Massie is one of the few congressmen who actually believes one **** thing, and isn't a shill.

This thing is dead in the water that’s a good thing for college football and for the university of Miami. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, anything but collective-bargaining is a bunch of BS and nothing will happen until that’s done.
