Mario deserves all the credit and a raise for sure.
Talent evaluation and acquisition both in the portal and HS recruiting is now outstanding, second to none.
Has very good coaching staff, both coordinators doing well and position coaches developing players.
Support staff( analysts etc) are very good
And finally Mario is opening up the offense allowing Dawson to coach on gameday
Future is bright !

This is what I am happiest about in all of this year's story.

We didn't **** the bed in November.

We made the cfbp.

Crootin and portal future is good.

Had we melted down yet again, we may have started going in the opposite direction longterm.

For me those 1st 2 years didnt mean a thing
The program was a dumpster fire, depth was awful.
There is more than 1 way to rebuild, but I prefer one that's sets us up for long term success vs a quick fix.

I got crap for saying the 1st 2 years were a mulligan, that he was building something special
Feels good what he has done here, dude is building a potential dynasty run, at worst a program that will be in contention for the next decade
 
The trajectory is good. Both floor and ceiling have been raised.

We must win an additional battle for an elite player in both HS and the portal going forward.

Must replace and upgrade assistant coaches if and when there are departures.

But things are trending right.
 
2024-2025 off-season was our best combo recruiting/portal job so far

The trajectory there has been climbing

We got several starters from the portal and supplemented that with a ton of good depth and a couple instant impact freshmen from the 2025 class

I read that page but rarely post. Last night some dudes were running smack about Manny winning the ACC before Mario. I weighed in and said that Manny was fired for going 7-5. He went 7-5 at Duke this year. Mario is 20-5 over the past two seasons and will likely get into the playoff.

The trajectory is right where it needs to be.

Playoffs is the only thing that matters. I could give two shlts about an ACC title!

Some fool responded to me saying that the only way it matters is if Miami wins the national championship this year. Anything short and Mario comes up with nothing and Manny still has an ACC trophy and his name in the books in perpetuity. lol I had fun with my response to him.

Remember, it IS a smack talk group.
 
It was `ACC or Bust` for me. I wasn't aware of how absolutely ****ed the ACC system is--testament to the ****-joke tier our conference is. I think that paired with this notion that we could somehow not play in the ACCCG but still somehow make it into the playoffs. I would have punched you in your fat lying mouth if you told me that back in August.

Here we are though, this crazy fkin sport has us 11 days from a playoff with the 3rd best SEC team. I have to walk back the "bust" talk. This season is a win so far and a marked improvement over last year. Finish the job! It has been good, but not good-enough to be the standard here at Miami. I think coach knows that, so I expect him to make at least a respectable deep run and keep bricklaying and stacking chips.

We are over the hump (past mediocrity). It feels good. But I want to get to where Ohio State is, that next level and stay there for years. We can do it under Mario because he is young and hungry enough. Just have to keep adapting and hopefully he continues to show a willingness to do that.
