Prognosis for the rest of the season

Real good chance of 7-5. Ceiling looks like 8 wins
Miami showed MAJOR offensive problems against A&M, things that are very fundamental. its difficult to objectively argue with
your comment. a team should have a basic offensive rhythm developed by game three in a season. Miami showed none in this game.

its going to be very interesting to see what changes if any will be made.

If serious adjustments are not made to this offense, we will lose at least 3 more games. I see us topping out at 8-4, unless we implement a lot more RPO concepts, and a lot less slow developing pass plays.

You guys saw 0 touchdowns tonight and are still under the belief we win 10 games

Texas A&M has recruited alot better than we have. The talent gap is big with the 2 programs as 4s and 5*s go. People forget we were 7-5 last year and Mario has only had a month to recruit his guys when he got here. It's crazy that people think this team would be lights out this year. Our Defense is solid and the offense won't see another D like that until we play Clemson

Oh, no doubt. If we don’t have dramatic improvement at QB and WR, I would say a much worse version actually

Which I have a hard time believing there will be zero improvement (r-right??), but the question is how much
Everything depends on “how much”. Everything.

TX AM other than the rb does not have some huge talent advantage on us.

App State honestly made them look regular last week and alot of other teams will humble them in sec west

This team will be lucky to go 4-4 in the SEC this year. We weren’t out gunned. They were missing half their defensive backs ffs

The WR room‘s lack of talent doesn’t help, but there were big plays to be made but missed by TVD locking onto his target or taking his check down too quickly. The hype around Tyler is a bit much. He’s physically talented, clearly, but has a lot of room to improve mentally.

It’s a new system for everyone.

There are going to be growing pains, they will continue, and what we should look for is improvement as the season rolls on.

As Bill Bellichik would say, “We‘re on to Middle Tennessee State.”

I still really believe we're in good hands with the coaching staff including Gattis. If the following things happen, we finish with 10-12 wins (including post-season):
  • Focus more on the TE's. They continue to seem like an after-thought. They need to be the main course, not a side dish. The TE's should be a significant part of the O going forward.
  • Make Jacolby the #1 WR. He showed it last year and tonight, that he is THAT GUY. They need to scheme the passing game around him and if other WR's decide to catch the ball, then they can get some occasional tosses, but make #15 the #2 focus of the passing game after the TE's.
  • Run the ball more.
  • Brashard needs to be the #3 focus of the pass game.
  • The D just needs to continue improving. Although we weren't playing against an Offensive colossus, they looked the part...mostly.
  • If the secondary can keep playing like that throughout the year, coupled with our DL continuing to improve, we might really have a nice D on our hands.
Other thoughts:
I predicted that we'd go 10-2 regular season and that's still my prediction.
That OL of ours is vastly improved! If the D continues to improve and we get at least one WR to consistently make plays, we can beat everybody left on our schedule including Clemson. Not saying we will beat CU - they will probably beat us in Death Valley - but we COULD beat them if we improve in the areas I've laid out.
Stop the spinning...Gattis isn't it....

Recognizing our immature focus abilities and change embracing it and a hunger for more attempts and you’ll see a BEAST of a hated team we were accustomed too on the protium getting rings.

Can't see this offense. VanDyke must be really frustrated with what Gattis is trying to do (whatever that is). Can't score a touchdown? Come on. Special teams are pathetic. And why does Herbstreit keep calling Mario "MAURIO". Good Lord :stupid:

Your prediction10-2 is very attainable I would even go 11-1 with our talent I like it but we need make that choice in a team meeting feed or be food .

We may have matured here feeling how bad it feels to have lost a very winnable game that we have way better talent but still lost.

I hope this team feels terrible as bad as humanly possible, now what are we going to do about it ???

We will see soon

Jacolby showed a burst and so did rooster. Those guys stood out on tv as playmakers and someone who could make big plays. I wish we won but we made too many fixable mistakes to win last night. I’m optimistic about the rest of the season.
