In this week’s rendition of the ProCanes NFL recap, there are a couple of names that you don’t see too often on this list but hopefully they’re aren’t too new to you, as they are members of the best football fraternity in the country.

RB

Texans RB Lamar Miller added yet another 100+ yard performance, rushing for 133 and a TD against his former team, the Miami Dolphins. In that same game, 35-year old Dolphins’ RB Frank Gore carried the ball 12 times for 53 yards. Browns RB Duke Johnson did more damage on the receiving end against the Steelers and finished with two catches for 16 yards. The Bengals’ RB Mark Walton received a little bit of work behind Joe Mixon, rushing for seven yards on two carries and catching a pass for 10 yards.

TE

Jets’ rookie TE Chris Herndon has been no stranger to the endzone, as he caught yet another TD pass against the Bears. This is Herndon’s third straight week with a touchdown haul. Panthers’ TE Greg Olsen caught four passes on four targets from Cam Newton and had 56 yards with a touchdown. In the Packers’ tough loss in LA to the Rams, Jimmy Graham caught one pass for 21 yards.

DL

Calais Campbell put together yet another dominating performance for Jacksonville in London with seven tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack. One name we don’t see too often on this list is Anthony Chickillo, as the former UM defensive end had a couple of tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass break up in Pittsburgh’s 33-18 over the Browns. Giants DE Olivier Vernon has three tackles and a fumble recovery in a loss to the Redskins at home. Former UM DT Olsen Pierre had a couple of tackles for the Cardinals.

DB

Rams’ CB Sam Shields added one tackle in their close win over the Packers.

K/P

In a 24-10 win over the Jets, Bears’ P Pat O’Donnell punted the ball five times for 225 yards, landing two of those punts inside the 20.

Shields made the play of the game downing a punt on the 6 inch line which turned into a safety in the following play. Great to see him back. Hadn't played in 2 years since a concusion.
