Pringle's benching

NOT a complaint -- Fletcher was outstanding at the end -- but is anyone surprised Pringle got only one carry the entire game?
I'm guessing it was probably related to pass protection vs a strong DL. On the other hand, he might have provided burst to a sub-300 yard offense, especially during the long periods when we couldn't move the ball.
Again, NOT complaining. I just thought it was strange, and no one asked Dawson/Mario about it at the press conference.
Fletcher only had 17 carries. Lofton had 1. Not enough plays run by the offense to get him involved.

Pringle not getting much run was a result of Dawson wasting plays on 1st and 2nd down. We only ran 47 plays and it’s mainly bc Dawson would call some bs on 1st or 2nd allowing A&M to rush on 3rd and long.

The gameplan could have been a lot simpler. Spread them out, allow ur athletes to win 1v1s, and run the ball using ur RBs, then call run & pass plays out of those condensed formations. Instead it was a lot of trick plays, challenging them horizontally, and no Rhythm was established.

With Fletcher’s pass pro and our O line’s ability to open holes, we didn’t need anybody else. That’s the best run blocking in between the tackles we’ve seen in months. You don’t need a change of pace guy when the regular pace guy is running for 10 YPC.

Fletcher had his best game IMO by far showing some things he hasn't prior. It's no disrespect to question why others might have missed carries. The entire offense was a mystery if you ask me and disjointed.

Still, likely won't be popular, there were two runs I saw where I felt like Pringle takes it to the house. That's basic though, the defense would play that down different if Pringle was in the game. So really it's a toss up if he's in the same spot where Fletcher could've used that one extra gear.

The defense won that game and Fletcher showed up like never before.

This is not the place to ask questions. Look at the responses… need Fletcher in because he can pass protect in a game we needed him to run more…👀 and you are 100% correct. Fletcher ate and was a boss, but Pringle house calls at least two of them.

Splitting hairs a bit, but there was absolutely work to be done by our disjointed offense so asking why Pringle didn’t get more burn when we were sputtering isn’t crazy talk.

All in all, Fletcher took over and it was great to see it, but those plays were there all game and we didn’t ride them…

I think I read somewhere that atm was one of the best defenses defending the perimeter in college football all year. I’m pretty sure I read they were the best WR screen D in the land.

Our run game was great yesterday and Mark was a man child. Got like 20/25 more yards once first contact was made on that long run. Im not high on Fletch normally but I do see/reconize the value he brings and he is a very good

Fletcher had the juice early, it looked like his day. I'm surprised we didn't give him 25 carries, he was a load for them to contain from the start and our OL, TE's and WR's were were manhandling them on the line of scrimmage.

We did not run it enough. This game would've been over earlier had we used our RB depth. Bro style ball was the answer yesterday. Don't Matter tho we got it done.

Bruh the dude we made the decision to hand the ball off to was averaging a first down every time he touched the football.

Happy as **** for Mark MFn Fletcher Jr.

In boxing, there's a phrase that "styles make fights" and the same applies to football. Fletcher's bruising style is what works against A&M and it showed.

We will probably see Fletcher and brown against OSU
These two things will show if the staff can critical think, because just because it worked against one team which the run was their weakness, doesnt mean it will work against the next defense.. * is stout on defense but they dont blitz like TAMU, nobody does, this is the game where either Beck earns his money or not. Obviously we will run ball but thinking we will A gap to victory is not ideal this next game..

Beck will play better than he did yesterday. The wind was tough and affecting his throws. Indoors in Dallas will be better. He doesn’t usually string bad games together

Doesn't really matter because Fletcher was working all day

This was not the game for Pringle. The offense only had like 50 plays as well so there really was never any rythm in the offense. If they sustained more drives he probably would have gotten more than 1 carry but this was Fletcher's game from the 1st snap. Those runs out of the pistol with that oline and him looking decisive and just bursting downhill was a thing of beauty. Would have been fantastic to marry some playaction pass plays with those run looks but Dawson doesn't do that for some reason.
Dawson can be very stubborn. Three words> Inept Bubble Screens.

Pringle wasn't "benched." We just went with the "hot hand." And obviously Fletcher's style of game was better suited against ATM's defense than Pringle's.

Ideally, the run game does need someone’s lightning to go with Fletcher’s thunder. This cam be dictated by the opponent and what they bring to the table as a defense. Fletcher’s pass blocking acumen was needed against an excellent blitzing defense.

Maybe Pringle can be used as a decoy in some ways but we have Malachi, and the rest of the receiver room plus Lofton.

Also, Pringle is very inexperienced. He’ll have his turn over the next several years. Expect excellence.
