This is playoff football. The straight ahead run game was the call. Had Dawson figured that out before the mid-3rd quarter and the Canes would have won by 14+.
And here's the thing. It's only going to get more so going forward. Do you think Ohio State and UGA are going to have softer defenses than what we saw yesterday? Are we seriously only going to use one running back throughout the entire playoff?
To me, this was a failure of the offensive game plan. Pringle is a freshman and needed some touches. Marty Brown is a power back with college playoff experience. He should have been on the field. Giving inside carries to Toney and Lofton was typical Dawson cuteness over substance. And it **** near cost us. This game was way closer than it should have been.
