Pringle is NOT IN THE portal ANYMORE

But how many times did Pringle fumble to lead anyone to that conclusion?
It’s fair and I am definitely hypothesizing. Cuz when the staff needed to finish games, they actually turned to Marty…so maybe he has best ball security in practice / can hold up to contact. I just think there was more than one reason why they shortened the rotation so much.

Hate to see this, I thought he was a decent back for a freshman, but seems to be the new college football way, go where you can play and make the money. However, Bama makes no sense whatsoever for a rb, they don’t have a run game at all.

Derrick Henry is not a good example to use. I understand the point you are making. I still believe if your strengths outweighed your weakness it would be less prevalent. I played LB and their is no offensive group that you spend more time with than RB.
Agreed, were the LB of the offfense and vice versa.

Right I used the quintessential RB for that, but even someone like Dalvin Cook, McAffrey etc. they don't come off the field cause they can do it all.

It's like asking an LB to just be good at stopping the run, but against the pass he's a big time liability.
They get exposed, no matter how good you are at stopping the run.

I noticed Marty inserted back in -- thought 2 things - ball security and better receiving RB at the end of the game.

In terms of Pringle and playing time, a lot of what people are saying makes sense, but the piece we will never know is how all this gets communicated to the team and players and individually. Like when you say "the bench gets shortened", I immediately say, yep, always does down the stretch, but then why is it coming at such a surprise it seems to lead to the portal... Fishy...

No reason to bring our 2024 team into this...

This one hurts. He had good juice and vision. Could use time in the weight room (which freshman couldn’t?). Should have seen significant burn especially with mensah giving us likely more of a spread look next year vs what we did with beck

Kid is a freshman on a team that went to the chamiopnship. If not for a mid sdeason rull in the running game and Lyle going into witness protection he might have redshirted. Would he have portaled then? Was he under the impression he was to be handed the starting spot permanently after the NC St game? I know this is the nature of things now but it's maddening.

I thought Pringle should have got a little more burn. He was a good change of pace back to Fletcher and Brown. Make a really good catch at Pitt also.

I can appreciate that take.

What I can’t get my ahead around is the idea that Miami just let true freshman Frank Gore jump in the portal. Come on. The RBs will be fine as long as there aren’t any major injuries.

he played good vs pitt too. I don’t think it’s about starting. I think its more so not being involved at all after showing he can help

If you’re not cheering your teammates on in the natty and your family is happy when the Canes lose, idc how good you are after you put your name in the portal.

We have a good thing going and morale is more important now more than ever with the portal.

I liked him as a player but worry about the message it sends to the team if we bring him back now. We have enough dudes at RB
Is this what happened? His family was happy Miami lost?

I am not surprised that a lot of competing programs want Pringle. They saw his tape, and the lack of playing time down the stretch, and the offers started rolling in. Just watching him hit holes and read blocks, he is very special. He might not be the best fit for Dawson’s offense, but IMHO, Pringle will be very productive RB at his new destination.

Good luck to Pringle. My guess is that Brown, Mallory and Fletcher will be the Canes prototype RB from this point forward. The Isaac Brown and Gerard Pringle types will find their success in other systems

if he doesn’t want to learn how to block then unfortunately he’s not a good fit for Miamis offense. But if he has determined that he wants to not have any blocking responsibilities as a RB, he’s making a good business decision as he would get very limited burn at UM.
