Pringle is NOT IN THE portal ANYMORE

Fletcher nearly doubled his season total in 4 games. If that is the production we get from him next season then the Pringle departure is moot. He didn't play enough for me to be invested.
I think a reason why Fletcher doubled his season total in the playoffs was cause of our rotation and he was more fresh than if he was the bell cow back.

If Pringle leaves? So be it. If he stays? Make his parents apologize for being hoes

If you’re not cheering your teammates on in the natty and your family is happy when the Canes lose, idc how good you are after you put your name in the portal.

We have a good thing going and morale is more important now more than ever with the portal.

I liked him as a player but worry about the message it sends to the team if we bring him back now. We have enough dudes at RB

It's a huge gamble for him. Chaney left and got 170 yards and that's a wrap for his career. You don't think Pringle will go up against absolute studs wherever he goes. We will see. Hopefully works for him.

I never asked for more Pringle. I think he earned reps, but I'm not mad either way. I just know pass blocking is a terrible excuse to keep a running back from playing running back.
That's crazy.
I played college ball as a running back.

This exact reason is why I didn't stand out my first two years.
Gotta be able to block to get more carries. Once i figured out pass protection rules and block blitzing backers and ends, all of a sudden I was the guy.

We can't just put you in the carry the rock.
The OC could but you don't' think it's going to be most obvious tell in history of America?

There are teams out there that ask their RB to run route and run only (i.e., SMU) and that's fine, but they won't sniff the NFL, and those teams won't sniff the CFB.
You need you TE to run/pass block and run route.
You need your RB to run routes, pass block and runs physical.

An OC can't be limited by the player on the field if they are a TrFr and started as a scout team player.

I want Pringle here, he will get better at everything, but that statement is wild.

I have a hard time believing you were not in solely because of pass protection. I do not think that is an honest assessment, but you are welcome to disagree. Their is a long list of ineffective pass blocking running backs that log 1,000 yards a year in the NFL.

Pringle is a talented runner. A lot of upside. His playing time had to be due to blocking ability. A ton of schools would take Pringle. I think he’s getting NIL to stay but other schools are more desperate than Miami.

That's was the main item. At years end you have a meeting with your position coach, OC and HC and they tell you your strengths and weakness. My weakness were size and pass pro (I was 6'0, 195, but ran a 4.4). Once I hit 205 and kept that speed and worked on my pass prop, went from just being a KR and PR to doing what the back up to Fletcher does. Spells him out on a 2 to 3 series, or after a long run.

Yes they get 1,000 yards on year and then you never hear from them again. Chris Johnson, had a couple good years. Pure runner cause of speed and team didn't win. Derrick Henry shows up and boom, immediately a better team.

I just love that after the season we just watched, specifically the postseason, there’s a contingent on here who thinks that this coaching staff doesn’t care about winning and just has a vendetta against Jordan Pringle that they played out in the playoffs.

Man spent weeks in a sling after a practice injury as a true freshman and then wanted more PT against A&M, OSU, and Ole Miss defenses on a CFP run where we were already running for like 200 yards a game….

I genuinely want to retain him, badly, but some of the delusion on the part of these players and their handlers is CRAZY.

It makes sense the young man & camp would be upset about riding the bench in the playoffs. That said, it’s hard arguing with how it played out. Tight physical games, typically fewer offensive snaps & tighter margin for error. So we rode the bigger, more physical backs.

Great analogy can be made with post-season baseball. Team rides a 5-man rotation during the season, but may only use 3 starters in the post-season. Hurt feelings for sure, but you ride with the starters that give you the best chance or best suited for postseason intensity,

Why do we not constantly send out RB’s as Wr’s. Way more dangerous offensively if they went out to run a route vs staying in and blocking. Way harder to cover and way less predictable. Look how Ole Miss, SMU, most NFL teams Also gives the Qb a checkdown if no one is open and most RB’s are hard to tackle 1on1 in the flats

A lot of players that start in the regular season don’t make the playoff roster. Happens all the time. Basketball teams shorten their benches. 4th lines play less in playoff hockey. I am betting the staff wanted to 1. Ride the hot hand 2. Didn’t trust him in pass pro 3. Didn’t think he was up for the physicality of the games. We were fumbling all over tbf . It’s probably not just one thing

So he fumbles from the bench now, too...

Dude gets worse by the page count. By the time we get to page 50 Pringle will have no arms or legs.

Playoff run was physical as ****. Toney & Fletcher coughed up ball. Sorry, they didn’t get tattooed like that in regular season. The game is just at a higher, more intense level. We had other key in-season contributors who didn’t see the field much in playoffs. That’s to be expected.

Not what I said. I said we already had fumbles as it was and I am putting forward the theory that the coaches didn’t think he’d hold up or on to the ball in physical games.

Derrick Henry is not a good example to use. I understand the point you are making. I still believe if your strengths outweighed your weakness it would be less prevalent. I played LB and their is no offensive group that you spend more time with than RB.

But how many times did Pringle fumble to lead anyone to that conclusion?
