Pretty good article about Charlie Strong

whats the fascination with charlie strong, without Teddy B, he is hot garbage as a head coach.

LOL their fans want him gone so bad b/c he's been such a terrible coach and you want him here? Why should we take some Texas scrap heap guy? Miami is the program with 5 titles since '83, not Texas. If anything, they should take our trash.

That's like tying Belichek to Brady. He wouldn't necessarily be my first choice, but the piece brings up some good points. He'd have to hire a beast of an OC for this to work

I do think he would do better at miami then at texas.

Well ya he would. He would be in his home recruiting grounds etc. Would make him a little better. But the fact is.. he is being exposed as a COACH. Has nothing to do with culture, recruiting, or fan base support that would make him a better fit. He's proving to be another Muschamp

I know he's not popular on this board but we can do a lot worse than Strong.

Not in my top 5 but I wouldn't be angry if we hired him

My belief is this.

Texas kids grow up playing for white coaches. South Florida kids grow up playing for black coaches. He was really able to sale that to south florida recruits while he was at Louisville

I would love to have Charlie Strong he is a huge upgrade over AL sometimes you go to place where your not put in a position to success and the odd are stack against you and thats what i think happen with Charlie if he does become our coach we would embrace him...# U Strong...

So Strong is at Texas now, but I guess that argument only applies when it works for you. Hmmmm.

Charlie's recruiting was due to a guy who is now banned from the NCAA. The reason he is struggling to recruit is his team is horrible and he's not a great recruiter without Hurtt.

Funny how Kevin Sumlin isn't having an issue getting kids to aTm......you know those supposedly "used to playing for a white coach" Texas boys.

2008 #1 class in the country, 2009 top 10, 2010 top 15. 2011 he had Perryman, Chickillo, Dorsett, and had he stayed we would have had Bridgewater and Rodgers, among others.
He was a terrible HC but pretty good recruiter.
