Prediction on year Cristobal takes over.

Another thing we dont take seriously enough are these college football crowds. The fan support at major programs is insane and many Miami supporters always dismiss it because 25 years ago we did x, y, z.

@SWFLHurricane why did Cristobal leave after a week under Al Golden?
Someone said it on CIS and I can't remember everything but it had something to do with Golden and staff getting in his face for punking someone on another staff over a recruit.

Has nothing to do with a passion project. Given the landscape of CFB right now, you'd probably have to go undefeated in the PAC to get into the playoff, whereas a team with 1 loss has a better chance of getting in out of the ACC.

Resources aside, he's always going to have a tougher time winning big at Oregon.

Not if he keeps winning at Oregon and beating his bowl matchups.

The reason there hasn't been a PAC team in, they keep losing too many games. It's not a PAC bias, it's you had too many losses.

A two loss ACC isn't getting in either.

I would agree if Blake and Manny leave Mario is a possibility, if he's willing and the money is found.

His buyout three years ago was a lot less. Online (FWIW) I've read his buyout is 80% of his new contract. He just signed 6-year, $27.3 million deal with an average base salary of $4.55 million. And, he'd likely want to bring some of his staff.

Now, coaches are known to have 'dream job clauses', where the buyout is less if they have an opportunity for a dream job. Kelly had one for the Notre Dame job when he was at Cincinnati. Could Mario have such a clause for the Miami job?
BRING ME MOREHEAD WITH HIM!!!

Mario was at Miami for six weeks.

@SWFLHurricane would know more, for sure, but if Saban calls the choice between working at Alabama, for more money, as assistant head coach, offensive line coach, and recruiting coordinatoror or at Miami for Golden is easy.

Alumi or hometown or not.

He’s interviewed for the job 3 times. His entire family is based here. It’s well known Miami has always been his dream job.
I’m sure Miami was his dream job when he worked at FIU or as an OL coach. Probably isn’t thinking about us much now lol

True. But I know there were leading factors that were spoken of on here leading to Cristobal leaving and something Golden and staff did that made it easier for Cristobal to leave. Something to do with Cristobal getting in another staff's recruiter at a high school and Golden and crew throwing him under the bus which made it easier for Cristobal to leave to go work for Satan. Maybe @Cribby may remember what I was talking about, too

They are hard nosed in a fundamental way not just fake swag. We can’t get away from fake swag with Manny cigars, slip and slides, chains, rings etc. manny is forcing that, the kids like it which I get but it’s not authentic. Let the kids dicatate that, not the coach cheerleading it. You think JJ gave all the kids army fatigues back in the day or told the players to dance? No, that was just them not the cheerleading coach.
The turnover chain needs to go. Nobody needs to be celebrating and mugging for the camera because they got an int or fumble recovery while their team is still down by 40 pts.

I do remember reading the story about Mario and the recruiting 'altercation'.

Remember, if you never have your team ready to play early in big games, you never have to worry about making game defining decisions late in the game....

Let the season play out. OSU is not that good. IMO Bama would put a similar beatdow on Oregon that they put on us. Maybe even worse...
