Prediction on year Cristobal takes over.

Mario makes $5.5M/yr at Oregon and resources for more.

Who at Miami is paying the bill to buy him and staff out? Pay Manny to leave?
A prominent booster was willing to make Mario to Miami happen when Mark Richt retired the last time. Mario is way more accomplished now and a hotter coaching commodity now. I'm sure that same booster would make that offer again.

The question is will Blake ignore it again?

Will Blake even be around?? He may get **** canned with Manny, if and when Manny goes

Obviously they aren’t otherwise they would have hired him the first time.
The was concern, the first time around, that he hadn’t been a HC for long enough. In 2010, Golden grin ****ed Kirby Hocutt and that got him the job. In 2015, Richt was the obvious choice given his record at UGA.

Mario was going to go full throttle in 2018 for the job, but Blake ended that from happening by panicking and picking Manny. All in all, if the money wasn’t a big step down, Mario would come. His entire family is based out of Miami, he’s an alum, and it’s always been his dream job. However, if Oregon keeps rolling it’ll be hard to convince him to leave. Also, there is a chance (not taking the over though) that Diaz ends up working out here and this scenario never comes about.

Yikes. Does Blake James really have that much power? Sort of a tongue in cheek question but I would think Mario would have probably been the better hire. At the end of the day it does not really matter. Three to four teams actually compete, the rest are cannon fodder.
You can do anything you want when you sneak to do so lol

If Manny gets fired Blake probably gets fired too.

Have to get that bozo Blake out as well. ****, I’d clear out the whole athletic department. Bring people in that actually give a **** about football. The boosters can **** sure find the **** money to afford Cristobal and the buyout for Manny and his bozos

Not power, but I honestly believe Blake has a way of... idk how to say it. In Germany, theres a saying that goes "jemandem Honig ums Maul schmieren", which freely translated means being an asskisser.

Blake kissed a lot of trustees asses very well. Oh, wasnt that hard.
Well, that is a gift and a talent that can take you places.

If Manny goes down Blake goes down with him. He made a dogsh*t hire in baseball. Larrañaga needed to be fired three seasons ago. And he pulled the trigger on Manny without looking at any alternatives.

I would agree if Blake and Manny leave Mario is a possibility, if he's willing and the money is found.

His buyout three years ago was a lot less. Online (FWIW) I've read his buyout is 80% of his new contract. He just signed 6-year, $27.3 million deal with an average base salary of $4.55 million. And, he'd likely want to bring some of his staff.

Now, coaches are known to have 'dream job clauses', where the buyout is less if they have an opportunity for a dream job. Kelly had one for the Notre Dame job when he was at Cincinnati. Could Mario have such a clause for the Miami job?

He won't ever coach here.

If he keeps winning, Oregon or someone else in college football or the pros will pay him more than we can.

If he trends downward and gets canned at Oregon, why would we want him?

The only chance, a slim one at that, but he goes to the NFL and bombs. He comes back for a last hurrah before retirement. We get a past his prime guy and that sure sounds familiar.

We missed our chance. He's not coming here when he can make more elsewhere. He's already priced out of what we can pay and has far better support than we would offer.

There is no way... (okay we are talking about Miami here) that Manny's severance could hurt Miami.

Only chance is if Manny and Blake get fired and we bring in Highsmith as AD and we have the alumni pull in our favor

Mario isnt really that highly paid for head coaches. Amazing that LSU pays Orgeron over 8.5m while Cristobal makes 5.5m. Richt made at least 4m.

I do think there’s a strong possibility this team loses another 4 games or more. Still doubt they fire Manny though
