predicting our record in 2016

The O/U for wins from Vegas will probably be 8 or 8.5.

We will be clear fav in 3 games--FL A&M--App St--FAU

Likely the underdog vs ND--UNC--FSU

For the remaining games the line will be likely within a TD either way---Dook--Pitt--GT--UVA--VT--NCST

Underdog in unc I'm not sure. They are losing marquise Williams. Overall I think you're right on the lines

I think we take that one though

Jacoby brissett for NC state is also gone and the all American Pitt wr left for the draft so that's good news.

10 wins minimum. with a healthy Kaaya and a more experienced OL, we should make the ACC title game which gives us a shot at the playoff.

I would agree with this... OL is key and the team will go with how much better they get. If they suck Kaaya is in danger. if they have 1 key injury then we could be 8 wins.

UNC and FSU and ND are going to be tough games that I dont know if our Oline can handle. FSU almost killed Kaaya last year.

The majority of this team is coming back except the DBs. 10 wins should be easily attainable.

Schedule as far as I know:

Non Conference:
Florida AM, App State, Notre Dame

Conference Home:
Duke, UNC, Pitt, Fla St.

Conference Road:
GT, Virginia, Va Tech, NC State

with one more non conference last minute powder puff.

Probable wins: 8
Florida AM, App State, Powder Puff
Duke, Pitt, VA, Va Tech, NC St

Probable loss: 2
Notre Dame, FSU

Coin flips we likely split:
GT, UNC

Prediction: 9-3

11-3. We finally beat FSU and win a bowl, but lose to ND and Clemson in the ACCCG. We also lose one coastal game that we shouldn't.

Non Conference:
Florida A&M, @App State, @Notre Dame, FAU

Conference Home:
Duke, UNC, Pitt, FSU

Conference Road:
GT, Virginia, Va Tech, NC State

Probable wins: 9
Florida A&M, App State, FAU
Duke, Pitt, Virginia, GT, NC St, UNC

Game we won't be favored in and have the highest probability of losing: 1
@Notre Dame

Tough games we'll either be slight favorites or slight underdogs and could lose: 2
@Va Tech, FSU

Prediction: 10-2 w/ ACCCG and New Years 6 Bowl, although very possible we go 11-1

Notes: This team won 8 games basically on auto-pilot this year with a completely incompetent and inept staff. Richt and the new staff have to be good for at least 2 more wins next year no matter what you think of the Diaz hire.

I feel the UNC game should be a probable win because not only are they losing Marquise Williams, they are also losing 2 of their best defenders in Schoettmer and Rashad. They will take a step back next season. Plus, it's a home game for us. Have to like our chances.

The Va Tech game is in Blacksburg and Fuente will have those boys playing way better than the last few years. We should win that one but I think that will be a game that gives us trouble, especially if Diaz has trouble stopping the spread.

Overall, I think the schedule sets up nicely for us to make a big splash in Richt's first year. Hopefully the All Canes Conference dream will finally come true.

Slightly off topic, but how crappy is our home schedule this year? The only big/standout game is FSU. Duke, UNC, Pitt, Florida A&M, and FAU are just crappy fillers. I wish they had a season ticket package for the away games. At least those should be entertaining.

Looking at it simplistically, if Richt can improve our third down conversion rate along with our redzone TD percentage we should be a 10 win team.
That's the way I see it. We left way too many points off the board and settled for FGs instead of pounding the ball in.

But College football is a strange sport. We could be a lot better this year but it may not show up in the Win/ Loss record.
Way too many factors we can't foresee. Especially without one minute of game film on how we will actually play or knowing how our opponents have improved.

10-2 (loss to ND and some other jabroni team - we win coastal and beat FSU).

worst 9-3 similar to michigan this year.

Disagree with your prediction but upvoted for use of jabroni.

I will not be fine with a loss to ND.

I'm sorry, but I'm old school and that's won't sit well with me. Not at all! I still see ND as the sworn enemy, right up there with FSU and UF

Doesn't matter if you're not fine with it.

We're playing at ND and that's going to be a super tough game to pull out.

We probably lose but who knows

Exactly. It's like people think head coaches choose to lose and we can just win if we want to.

I do however like our odds against notre Dame. Hopefully it's not too cold up there at the time but they are losing a lot of contributors this year heading to next.

Same with unc losing marquise Williams and a few others.
