We always tank after playing FSU, and because we play them early this year, I say 3-9 season...

In all seriousness, the outcome of the Cincinnati game could spell disaster for this year. Say we lose to Nebraska (expected) and go on next week to lose to Cincy, the locker room could very well implode after losing to FSU and three straight so early. Season could be lost by early October.

Cincy game by the way ... an away night game.
 
8 wins. Lose a close bowl game to an average opponent. Golden retained. All talking points involve "improvement" and "Kaaya....". Flake's talking points from this July recycled next July. Golden skips the ESPN carwash due to a "family illness". This thread reappears next August 1.

Hahaha. If you think anyone in the Gables is firing a corch anytime before the end of the regular season (absent a major scandal) then you're more confused than Dan Sileo helping his daughter with homework.
 
8-5, win the coastal, irrelevant bowl win/loss, Golden extended 12 months until 2021 with a significant pay increase over the life of the contract(proving the "we can't afford a coach" crowd wrong)

Never say never he might resign with negotiated buyout but I think duke will be last game for him
 
Disappointing.
Underachived.
Golden conjurs some insane stat to argue team is progressing.
His puppet the AD publicly agrees.
Golden is the coach next year.

I have zero faith that the administration will fire him.

Is that it? Is that he biggest fear at this point? That no matter how good/bad the season goes that AG keeps his job? I have been reading a lot of threads as camp gets ready to start. And I think this is the biggest concern amongst people around here. I mean my theory is its a win win for me. If the Canes do well, I get to watch my team finally do well, but if we suck, then hey at least AG is finally out of here. However, I guess even in that scenario there is a lose, in which AG does just enough to keep his job? I don't know.... I think anything less than ten wins and and ACCCG appearance and I would think he is gone.... But I guess there is no way to tell.... Anyone know anyone on the BOT?

I predict worst case scenario, something like 8-4 or 9-3 in which it becomes tough to justify firing AG by our weak BOT...
