Pre spring lineup (top 40 guys who will play) is just insane.....

That’s not gonna happen. Rodriguez will be our center this year. The only way SJ is getting in at center as if we have an injury.
I like Rodriguez, but he's had his fair share of injuries. SJ better be prepared to play. Or Buchanan or Cline.

Believe Blount has said he wants to move inside. Not sure he adds enough weight to make the fulltime switch but he will play dt a lot.
He said that?
Cause I know he's been fighting the inevitable for a while. He's kinda like the James Williams of the DL. 😆

He's a 1st round talent if he gains a few pounds and moves inside.

I could be completely making **** up, but thought I remember @DMoney mentioninf he wanted to move inside.

I haven’t asked Blount, but I know people around him saw the vision of a pass-rushing DT.

He mostly played DT this year anyway and he’s 18.
With what we have at end do you think it’s the right move for him to develop into a DT?

He posted on Instagram. Should be fine for spring. Not a long-term deal.
Saw a few posters mention Jaden Wilkerson as someone to keep an eye on for next season along the OL....are you hearing anything on him?

He young so we will see but he doesn’t have a DT build to me, looks like a traditional sde

If we feel like the other 2 of Lowe, Scroggins, Pickett and McConathy show they can be real dudes next year, then Blount can go inside as a key part of the rotation. My view is that Wilson and Lightfoot are not as stout holding the edge and you will want Blount out there early against the run. We'll see and would be great to have the flexibility.

If you look at the projected top 40 guys who will likely start or be in the rotation, it has to be the best we have seen in a long time.......no need to get caught up with who wins the battles to start, but I am predicting that these 40+ guys below will play the most.....STACKED

QB - Mensah
RB - Fletcher, Pringle, Brown
WR - Barkate, Wingo
WR - Toney, Vaughn
WR - Jacobs, Moore
TE - Lofton, Gilbert
LT - McCoy
LG - Buchanon
C - Rodriguez
RG - Samson
RT - Cantwell
Swing OL - Merriweather
Swing OL - SJ

WDE - Wilson, Lightfoot
DT - Moten, Carter
DT - Scott, Davis
SDE - Blount, Lowe
MLB - Toure, Smith
WLB - Wiley, Bonner
Nickel - Thornton, Antoine
CB - OJ, Brown
SS - Poyser, Day
FS - Fitzgerald, Mack
CB - Lucas, O'Connor
Why Sampson getting moved to RG would leave him at LG where’s he’s been really good. But I understand not wanting a RG RT next to each other with no experience

I think it's a no-brainer. He's already a good pass rusher inside and he's not dynamic enough outside. Still only 18.

He needs to bulk up and get much better against the run, but pass rush pays the bills.
We have a major need at SDE and don't have a major need for an every down DT. He should obviously stick at SDE.

Stick? He’s already playing DT during a playoff run at 18.
...yes because we had Bain and Mesidor that refused to come off the field. He opened the season playing far more Edge than he finished it playing. So clearly that was the staffs initial intention After FSU he still played over the tackle but was mostly in the B gap. And clearly we were weaker at DT than Edge, especially with Lightfoot playing good.

...This is kinda like saying Mesidor shouldn't have moved to Edge because he played mostly DT in 24.

Look at our roster. Unless you want to be 100% reliant on Lowe and I guess hoping Scroggins is better than one of our top 3 DTs? We want the best players on the field. Blount primarily at Edge is better for this rosters needs, and it seems incredibly obvious. Obviously he will still play a lot of DT, but putting a bunch of weight on him would be a mistake. They should go into next season with what their game plan clearly was this season. He was Bains primary backup for a reason.

We’re past the point of moving guys to fill roster holes. What’s his best spot to be an impact player?

Blount won inside a lot more often than he ever did outside, and he’s only 18. He’s not artificially bulked up. He’ll only get heavier in the natural course of maturation. At the moment, he’s not dynamic enough outside and I don’t see a plan to get him there.
