Love Flood HB Swing. That, Smash out of Trips Offset along with Drive and Stick Wheel out of Trips were my favorite , non-RPO, quick snap plays.
I agree, that cross in “All Go” was unstoppable vs Man…especially with Restrepo’s cutting ability. Was also deadly vs standard Cover 3 and Cover 4 because if your opponent tried to manually cover the crosser there was a delay curl route by the hb that was sure to be open.
I also see that we finally got a legit auto-motion play in Gun Trips called “MTN Wheelies” and a HB Slip Screen that uses the same auto-motion. Can’t wait to try those two out.
Yeah those two new plays sound promising...and just scanning the playbook there are several new plays in returning formations that could have use. I have a feeling WR screens are going to be really good this year. The one out of spread is really good if you get the right pre snap look.
Back to the "All Go" play....put the slot receiver on a curl (or a stemmed down hitch) and the outside receiver on the trips side on a comeback. That route combination beats EVERYTHING. If they play any type of defense where the slot corner bails for the flats, then that curl route will drive them crazy. If they chase the crosser the rb delay out of the backfield will drive them crazy. If they stop all that it means the comeback route is open. The only issue with this setup is when you play on the road since it seems as if hot routes will be almost impossible to use when the crowd is going nuts. Quick snap plays are vital this year.
