Smash out of Trips Offset was one of my top go-to plays in CFB 25, especially vs Cover 2 man. Unfortunately, they nerfed the speed of that backside deep dig in CFB 26, making it much less effective. It was almost unstoppable in 25 vs any coverage if you got the timing right.
It’s funny you mentioned that Sail play out of Trips as your Flood HB Swing substitute, because that’s the play I settled on too. However, like the Smash play, the nerfing of the speed on the Deep Outs and backside Deep Digs/ Square Ins makes these routes less effective than I would like. That swing to the HB does get open for some nice easy yards though in most cases.
If you want to try a nearly unbeatable play that has just 2 simple adjustments try “Dagger” out of Gun Bunch STR Offset. All you have to do is put the middle bunch wr on a Deep Cross and the HB on a wheel. First read is the quick drag (destroys man), second is the Deep Cross. If those both are somehow covered, the TE takes a delayed step to the outside that allows him to nestle into a soft spot underneath for some quick easy yards before he heads up field and cuts it over the middle. I have practiced this play vs every type of defense and it is nearly unstoppable.
