Every oc adds and deletes from his playbook. It’s year two so of course the playbook will thicken up.

Sooooooooooooo, is part of that playbook addition, the long lost “whole” playbook of Richt that’s been missing like the lost treasures of The Knights Templar?? Between that & DeeJay’s Ace, I’ve been patiently waiting.

So what does our current injury list look like if we had a real game this week? Who would be questionable and who is out? TAC in a boot is not good I imagine. Getting concerned about Zion, Rique, Harris, D. Johnson... Harvey, Blades... I mean good lord. Our 2nd team DE, OL, and LB aren't looking too good.

Oooh the mysterious other half of the playbook. Many a season have we heard tales of the mystical other half of the playbook. We waiting in vain for it to appear in the PeNos era after being burned during the Richt dynasty before. Maybe the planets will align with Lash and the prophesy will be fulfilled

It's true. There is another half to the playbook. I've seen it. It consists of inside zone behind the left side of the OL.

I see this playing out like the dramatic conclusion of "Al Capone's Vaults". Just substitute Mark Zagacki for Heraldo Rivera.

We just had a scrimmage and im positive a ton of people got ****ed up and for some reason message board posters think the world is ending because players have been held out. Shows how many people have every strapped up in a scrimmage at any level. **** happens. If there aint boots or casts then chill.
Thank you for bringing all the chicken littles back to reality.

Brooks?!?! No
I think @rok may be on to something here. Its not that big of a stretch. Brooks natural position is basically DE. He excels at playing downhill towards his target. He has put on a good enough amount of weight where the idea of moving him isn't as far fetched as it would have been 2 years ago. At the very least lets get this kid set up for success. He obviously has talent so Diaz should be figuring out how to best utilize it. Get this kid in a couple of blitz packages. There's no reason for him to be sitting on the bench because he is 3rd string at LB.

Edit. Does anyone know what Sam Brooks is weighing right now?

People who make fun of the "other half of the playbook"-talk: You do realize that players under Richt and Enos didnt know the playbook at all, right?

Just a thought about the Play book conversation. To me it felt like we added more plays as the year went on and I really felt like we 100% added a lot more for the bowl game. Maybe im off but thats what it felt like to me anyways.

Tighten up? It was nonexistent. If you take away every muffed punt it was still horrible. We didn’t have one explosive return. I believe we haven’t returned a kick or punt since 2018 vs Pitt when Dallas did it.

And we can’t take away the muffed punts. That was ridiculous. Hall Pope restrepo Harley all dropped punts. It was a joke. God I miss berrios. That guy didn’t drop ****. Jeff Thomas dropped one in 2019 and it potentially cost us an entire game. Our returns have been a joke for years. Harley and Pope aren’t breaking any tackles so don’t put them back there. Hall isn’t explosive.

Give restrepo another shot with a minuscule leash. Give brashard smith a shot. That’s the type of guy who can break a tackle and go the distance.

Everyone drops punts and explosive returns are a dinosaur of the past, punters have gotten so good that 90% of punts are fair caught or end up in the end zone. 90% of kickoffs also go into the end zone.

Special teams is more about kickers than receivers these days.

Punts are all angled to the sidelines , rugby kicked or hung up. A high majority of kickoffs are touch backs of where they kickoff, Also there’s no wedges allowed anymore.

The return game is close to dead.

Its all about kickers , punters , blocking and ball security. The amount of time spent on st’s at practice has decreased.

Starting secondary for game one should look like this..
CBs: blades and ivy with couch at nickel
S: Bubba and Stevenson

Hopefully Smith can be like those two Lb’s that played for FSU when Winston won the ship. Those two guys were all over the place making plays even tho undersized.

Hardly ever see a PR or KR without a penalty. Demoralizing as ****. Fair catch punts and if the kickoff doesn’t go in the end zone, fair catch it and start at the 25.

To me, the likely hood of a big return is so risky and minuscule it’s better to make a fair catch and start a drive with a little momentum.
