PractiSe #7

I honestly don’t have a dog in this race; but to me, N’Kosi may have become more mature, but his accuracy is just not there consistently enough for me.

I’m not sure who’s going to win this battle, but for all the flaws Tate has, his wobbly passes, for the most part, have been in front of The WR. Same for Jarren.
That's the difference between 200 and 300 yrds a game in passing...

agreed. worth remembering that ken dorsey had a noodle arm and half of his passes were wobbly ducks but they got where they needed to be- if tate can do that then i'll roll with him.

I don’t get this statement. Catching a football isn’t dependent on age. It’s not like you’re saying he struggled picking up the offense or the speeding of the game or blocking, which happens more when you’re young. It’s the one thing you’re supposed to do at wideout. There is no excuse for dropping as many passes as he did.

I’m not saying he can’t or won’t get better bc he will, but that had nothing to do with him being a freshman

So OJ Mcduffie sucked because he dropped a ton of passes when he got to Miami? Your statement doesn’t make sense. Why have coaches? Why work on the jugs machine? Why practice?

Was Matthew suero there? He’s usually good for us with updates. Have virtually seen nothing for reporters having access to 35 minutes of practice

Rivals had a few short videos that show virtually nothing. One post with the same info about those two passes. Only other thing said was Tate throwing mainly short or intermediate throws. Perry and Williams doing all the deep work

You're just wrong. You know why Andre Johnson, the most talented WR we've ever had here, redshirted? Yea he had talented guys in front of him, but you don't think Butch and Coker wanted to get him on the field ASAP? He couldn't catch a cold in practice hist first year here. Struggled even his RS
FR year for the most part too. Yes it is something guys can and do improve on. Go back to '97 and see how many drops Santana had. It was thought to be a real "problem." And it was, but he improved.

Gurv going to make some people take some dirt naps this season. My lord.

Brock you’re still trying to convince everyone not to over analyze every throw? Lol they are going to stress every little thing with the 3 QBs

Or some people don’t always have their orange and green glasses on all the time. Last year I called out Rosier for one pass in practice where he threw it in the dirt on a crossing route with no rush. 90% of this board bashed me cause I said I could easily make that throw and that it’s a problem That Rosier can’t make it. Everyone said calm down it’s one pass....no it wasn’t and I was proven right all year cause Rosier flat out sucked.

Kosi has been inconsistent in his career so far. I think this is why Tate will win the job. P

3 catches for 57 yards as a RS freshman in 2001.

You must have missed my second part. I never said he couldn’t improve, I simply said being young is not an excuse for drops. Catching the football is catching the football at any age.

Does making an open shot or fielding a routine groundball depend on your age? Do you make excuses for those players too? Routine plays are routine, no matter your age or sport

Hankerson couldn’t catch till he was a senior and ended up in the NFL for a few years. Kids can get better

it's not uncommon for struggles with picking up the offense + speed of the game to translate into drops. even if you're getting to the right place at the right time, if you're thinking about it too much then you might lose focus on actually bringing the ball in. i'm not saying that's definitely what it is with wiggins, as there's no way for us to know that, but it's certainly a possibility.

I get that, but he dropped balls any average joe could’ve caught. Not too mention after enrolling early and then after about half the season, as much as he played he wasn’t a freshman anymore.

Dorsey also had the what might be the best ever skill position players we'll ever se in cfb. And he read the field at an elite level for college.
