Spring PractiSe #5 **TUESDAY**

(Prunty had 10 PBU’s as a TF).

TRUE FRESHMAN CB’s, every single one of them played better than Ivey & they were only 18 years old...

But you guys are right, lets just keep playing Ivey because eventually the light will come on right???? Hopefully he comes back for another 3 years then he’ll finally reach his potential! Seniority supersedes all always!

He and Wiggins are really expanding their understanding of their respective systems this Spring and Summer. They're taking a real mature approach. Physically, they have all the tools, but this is the year they put it all together. It's a contract year for both of them, so you know they're coming in to take care of business. We're seeing a lot of maturity from those guys. Completely different mentality this offseason. They are walking around the weight room and practice field like leaders. Other guys are starting to look to them.

Right? Yeah, right...

We should have a very good CB room with TRob at the helm

As D$ has said, Ivey has almost all the tools to be a real good college corner. He might not have elite speed or ball skills to be a top NFL guy but he’s got great length, physicality, and is good in man coverage. If his confidence improves which I think it will with TRob, the ball skills should improve and I think he plays well this year

Rumph was a mental midget that rubbed off on his corners play and Baker played too much zone

**** Manny really had a Mccloud playing OLB,MLB and striker for 5 years when he was really supposed to be a DE.

Lofty expectations only become excuse because Miami never develops their highly ranked players.

At every other winning program in D1 football they take their high 4/5-star players & turn them into 1st round draft picks, at Miami they have to sit on the bench for 4 & half years before they can be expected to contribute.

That’s the disconnect. At schools like Clemson, OH St, Oklahoma, Bama, LSU, Auburn, UGA, Texas, TAMU, USC even Oregon for God’s sake takes kids like we’ve signed over the last few classes & turn them into NFL players & it doesn’t take 5 years for them to see the field, they play TF’s all over their team on both sides of the ball.

The truth is, Miami has been sold a bill of goods that it takes 10 gestational periods before a player can ever see the field in anything more than 3rd teams reps. Elias Ricks was starting TRUE FRESHMAN All-American last year, he showed up to campus at LSU & already played better than Ivey has in 3 years, same thing with Derek Stingley, he started asa TF at LSU & was immediately dominant as a corner, same with Tony Grimes at UNC, meanwhile Miami still hasn’t figured out that they have a LB playing Boundary corner, but because ‘hE lOoKs gOoD iN pRaCtiCe bRo!” He gets to start for his entire career despite how awful he’s been.

Yall get mad at people who tell the truth because yall want everyone to run spin jobs & make a litany of excuses, but the reality is, these eLitE upperclassmen yall are so attached to make more mistakes than any young player could ever imagine, but because they supposedly know how to get lined up correctly yall just whip your memories clean & pretend like they’re all of the sudden going to transform into a player they’re not.

A guy who’s been here for years but has never played well is who yall bet the house on at multiple positions, then when they get out there & keep making the same mistakes they’ve made since they first started playing yall act all shocked & surprised lol.
Careful, LCE. These dudes count on you to keep their fragile psyches from crumbling. Quit telling them the truth. They’re going to think you went heel like Hulk Hogan’s glorious NWA turn.

Like who?

What you’re telling me is that Manny loves upperclassmen so much, that he is overriding Lashlee and Likens?

Or maybe the reality is, that those guys are the ones that are putting Wiggins and Pope out there continually, because Manny lets them run the offense. Like most logical people would think.

I’m not excusing Manny for anything else, and this isn’t a defense of him, but you guys come up with the stupidest shlt.

That makes no sense, a HC who struggling, supposedly a “specialist“ on defense, and he’s also telling people like Lashlee and Likens who to start at wide receiver.
My good pal, Manny is the Ronald McDonald of this wonderful organization. He serves up a rotten hamburger and he can’t say, “Go sue Mayor McCheese (Lashlee) and The Hamburglar (Likens)! They have the final say on hamburgers!”

Still catching up on 12 pages here, but had to stop at Patchan starting over Rousseau. That wasn’t for one game D! He was starting til like game 5 or 6. Explain dat!
Rousseau battled a rib injury all through fall camp and was brought back slowly

Ivey has all the tools to be a great CB except the ability to cover.

People sitting here talking about depth. Well he been here since what 2016? He should of had depth but he failed at recruiting. People say well the d cord should of never called that he blew the game. Well who hired the d cord? The OL can't creat a push our OL coach sucks...well who hired the OL coach and okd the OL evals for a legit offer?

See what I mean?

If we going to give Diaz credit for any one thing he has to take the blame for those mishaps as well. Injuries ain't his fault unless dude is in the game in garbage time. But his backups should be monsters so if he has a bum backup that's on him. The head makes the body move....he strikes me as a political HC. He knows he will grab the simps who worship every HC we get and talk themselves into anybody we hire. He has to convince the middle fans who can get fooled but are harder to fool but will eventually fold when they hear good news. He can't get the me's cause we know bs when we see bs because we already have been programmed for 15 years to see bs. We know what it smells like and we know what it looks like. We have paid attention to what other schools who hired new HCs that have been successful done. We know the red flags and we know the signs that your on an upswing.

When have you seen these said "tools"? Been 3 years and the only tool I've seen is the ability to consistently get torched. He has had some great games. However, those have all mostly been because Blades was getting torched on the other side.

Lol idk why yal be so bothered trying to keep explaining this to ppl..like you said you already know what’s up ... it’s just in the nature of some fans to make excuses for their favorite teams’ coaches and players . If ignoring facts sometimes makes those ppl be happy , let those ppl be happy lol

I've probably said this about 2 years and ppl on the board and even ol coaches have force fed him as a guard or interior player. Reason i was so keen on him being what he is as a tackle..........I WAS SCAIFE IN COLLEGE.

Was about the same height...maybe weighed less than him....But i only played Tackle in high school...had great feet..Every ol coach in college would come in and want me at guard. **** Art Kehoe told me at a camp Im a center and would get recruited at that spot if i worked on it ( It was the worst position in my mind) Hindsight ...had i played Center i likely wouldve went power 5. lol

Every time they would put me inside at Guard i would f up. Some of it was on purpose cause i didnt want to be in there. When i saw Scaife's play i saw the same things...there was so much times where he looked like he had NOOO clue who to block,Confidence was shot,e tc then you start doubting yourself and its a blizzard after that.

Coaches just eventually figure out in college im the best pass blocker with the best feet regardless of my size and weight,,and start me..and my back up is a 6'5-6'6 315 pd prototype tackle lol.

When we cut the podcast after hiring him, this was one of my biggest concerns. The 2017 and 2018 class were disasters, and we weren’t aggressive enough in correcting those mistakes.
I know I was vocal expressing my concerns about him as a recruiter since before he was hired. He wasn’t a good recruiter. It’s why I said he needed to create a recruiting process and infrastructure, because he wasn’t going to live it himself.

Hey u right fuqem

Pencil in McCloud as a starter at SDE.

DeAndre will be playing the rotational role that Trent Harris/Trevon Hill played. And Harvey will be the guy at WDE.

Also expect a big dose of BJ Jennings & DJ Ivey all year too lol The Safeties will remain Bolden, Hall & Carter, the young Safeties will only play 3rd team & mop up duty.

Seniority always wins with Manny.
After all of the improvements and positive changes that have been made in the coaching staff etc.....it will be this that will ultimately prove to be his undoing. This is the only way that this team underperforms relative to their overall talent level. There is more that enough talent on this team to win 10 games and play in the ACCCG and maybe a NY6 Bowl. Manny playing the less talented players because of seniority will prevent us from accomplishing this.

The thing is that you would think that he would be smarter than that. As a politician he must know that doing the above will create a cancer of resentment and frustration in the locker room. Add to that, he must know that engaging in that type of favoritism will destroy his ability to recruit elite players who are good enough to start immediately. I have to hold out hope that playing the seniority card was something that was a product of mediocre depth combined with last year's lack of off season practice and development opportunities for younger players due to Covid rather than a dogmatic etched in stone philosophy of relying on upperclassmen.
