Practice #9

campbell is working really hard. In my opinion id move Cleveland reed to RG campbell at RT and move scaife to LT. I still don't trust a freshman against Florida week 0

Stick a TE beside Zion bc it sounds like coaches like our three interior guys a lot.
I don’t think anyone is trying Campbell at RT in order to later replace Zion w Herbert at LT. If Herbert isn’t playing LT, then he hasn’t passed anyone at LT yet.

TBH, the simplest answer is usually the correct one. Herbert is at risk of getting replaced by Campbell at RT.

This game is going to be far from easy on the offensive side of the ball. I am saying that 17 points is enough because I don't believe Florida is as talented on offense compared to the talent on our defense. Our Defense will not give up more than 10 to Gainesville. They are being hyped up like we were to start the 2018 season. The deference with us this year is energy and being humbled.
I don't think they're as talented either but talent sometimes doesnt matter; this should have been learned last year when we gave up an average of 25 points to UVA, BC, Duke, GT, and Wisconsin. If the offense isn't moving, the defense is going to struggle which is why our output on offense is significantly more important than on D.

You can stick a TE next to him sure, but that still doesn't mean he's going to be ready for week 1. I agree it is Herbert at risk at LT

I'll never understand why everyone insists on overreacting to every single media report and taking each report as fact. Didn't we learn from the QB battle the last 2 years that nobody knows anything and none of these media reports really provide any insight into who is going to start? I remember 2 years ago that we had very credible sources predicting Evan Shirreffs was going to start.

We’ve had QB battles the past two years???

Rosier was always the clear favorite a couple of years ago due to being the only one with any experience on top of the other dudes being god awful

Last year Perry eliminated himself from the competition before the season even started for week 1

Here's my guess. Herbert performed really well in the scrimmage and they feel very good about him, so they are going to see how he can handle LT and how Campbell handles 1st team reps at RT. If Herbert can make the transition and Campbell handles 1st team reps well then, they'll probably start Herbert at LT and Campbell and RT for UF.
Why not move Herbert to 1st team LT then for this practice?

I get it. I understand if the offense doesn't move it puts our defense at a disadvantage. However, what I am saying is that Jarren, N'Kosi, and Martell have much more talent to work with than #12. Richt was a great coach. He was out of gas and should have retired after Georgia (I'm glad he didn't). So my point is that our deficiency was at the QB spot. If we have more innovative play calling and more talent at the position then we will beat Gainesville. Our team last year with better QB play doesn't go 7-6. We probably start the year in the top 15.

Easier said than done. There are too many "if's" and you're not even mentioning the biggest one, which is the OL. Our deficiency was at QB and OL, and the needle doesn't seem to be pointing up for either in preparation for this game.

Experience doesn't necessarily mean better. Searles went with experience last year and started Hayden Mahoney and Jahair Jones at guard last year. That interior got abused by everyone and couldn't even get push against Savannah State. Would I rather have experienced tackles who can play? Of course but we don't have any of those. I'll take my chances with a young guy who's flashed skill over a bum who's been stinking up the bench for three years.

who would win in a street fight between Kosis Hive, tates Cartell, and Jarrens Gaby
Tate. Stronger, more explosive and faster. With his height you know he’d get inside on the two lanky guys and go to work like Tyson.

I get it but I don't see any circumstance Enos just leaves him on an island. You have backs to help chip also you Tight ends to help. Slide protection. There are a few ways to give him some help when needed.

Oh, no doubt he'll have to design help but they're still going to have to win 1 v 1 matchups more often than not. Only so much you can hide a stinky ****.

I'd have to disagree with that. While none of our QBs have stood out as superstars, any of the 3 will likely be an upgrade over last season. So that is already pointing up. As for the OL, while it will still be a weakness, it won't be any weaker than last year, plus unlike last year it appears our offensive gameplan won't accentuate our OL weakness like Richt's did. So that is at least a slight movement upward.

So Herbert did a great job in his first action trying to lock down the RT spot and they rewarded him by demoting him to 2nd team at a new position? Ok.
