AMEN! I want to see 2 or 3 deep especially when we are playing the weaker teams. Curb stomp them and keep rolling out another potential starter who happens to be the back-up. I want our back-ups to be experienced by the end of the year so 2020 and 2021 are BIG years and we don't see a drop off when a starter leaves.

Derrick Smith and Gurvan Hall on the backend is one **** of a combo. Smith is a legit 6-3, 210lbs. Two physically imposing safeties that tackle with bad intentions. Our run defense is going to be strong on the 2nd and 3rd level. Love it.

With how much responsibility the safeties have in Diaz's defense - how much ground they need to cover - I really like the idea of Smith back there with his skill set and range. If he can put the mental aspect of it together, he could be special.
