Competition. These kids don't want to compete man. His family felt disrespected because they were told there was only gonna be 2 backs in this class?

There is a difference between not wanting to compete and being lied to and disrespected. Al allegedly told Powell that they were only recruiting two RBS and then he made a hard charge for Cook and is trying to flip Sony. Add to that the fact that Al dipped out to try to get his dream job and you have a clusterf&*k.

Now, he is allegedly trying to flip Sony? LOL. I guess he is trying to make a splash to compensate for the past few weeks, and it just cost him the best player in Broward County.

I know people are mad but let's not completely lose our minds here. As bad as Golden has been, it is not worse than Shannon.

These kids this days straight up sissified, can't take the fact that you'll have to compete for a position and not have it given to you...Better now because he would of been like Vernon Davis, go through Fall camp and see he's not on the traveling team and transfer out...
 
I haven't caught up here but has anyone explained why Powell committed to UF so late in the game?

He's a smart kid. I think he saw through the BS. He obviously wasn't comfortable here for whatever reason if UF can come in and offer and take him in one day. Good luck to the kid, just not on the field.

I don't know who is right in this case or any of the others that have happened recently, I know one thing, I have a sick feeling in my stomach and I will not support the university if Al does not do better next year. This kid was all Cane just a few days ago. he has played the game over the past few months. However, means nothing to me at this point. Al needs to win or I will hang up on the alum association when they call for contributions, like I did with them after the Virginia game with Shannon and at some point with Clappy!
 
its funny how half the people ****ed were didnt want powell as a rb because him and yearby both werent big and they preferred a big back. now they are going nuts.

People were screaming about not going hard after Sony and Cook, and we went BALLS OUT after them, and now people are ****ed because Powell got butthurt and is bailing?

LMFAO. I mean this place is stuck on stupid. Everyone wanted us to recruit the **** out of COok and SOny, and we did, and now people are mad because Powell got ****ed about it? LMFAO. This sh*t is comedy gold.

Al happens.

One big positive out of all this is that we did get Cook, so Powell was kind of a luxury. I remember when some of us were saying how important Cook was because you need to stack chips at RB, but the smarter posters told us we didn't need him because we had Powell. Well, I'm just glad that Al didn't listen to those smart posters and got us Cook.

Dude could you be any more dense?

It's not about UM recruiting those guys...according to the guy I got the info. from Powell knew and expected UM to take two backs. It's not about comp because UF is planning on taking another back this class as well.

It's about feeling misled. If you tell a kid you're taking two backs but then you're camping out at Cook's house and still chasing Sony, well yea that probably isn't gonna sit well. And throw in being unable to be reached for a few days and why should a kid trust what he's being told then? I mean there was so much info. out there to the contrary on Cook. I mean Cook being recruited as a corner? C'mon. Again that's only one side of the story so take it with a grain of salt but to think this is simply about Cook or Sony is just being willfully dense.
