Coley, Barrow, Hurlie, Scott, none of these guys who are all reputed to be great recruiters, have even a shred of gray matter amongst them to call this kid up and calm him down? Im just not buying it. This has nothing to do with being a Golden homer. I agree he didnt handle the PSU thing very well. And had this happened in direct sync with the PSU thing, it would make more sense. But 2 nights ago he was "all about the U" and that was AFTER Golden said he was staying and the PSU thing happened.

So it was "all about the U" until he got an offer from a desperate UF? And as soon as they did, now he decided he may not want to come here? If that's the case, then IMO, this kid has been ****ed off since the whole Cook thing, and maybe feels slighted, and maybe UF is telling him he's going to be the "man" up there, like they told Cook. I just dont see how a kid makes such a radical swing, days before enrolling, because Golden may have considered taking the PSU gig over a weekend. I mean he said he's staying. Had he left, ok, the kid bolting would make sense. But you are set to enroll, HC gets an offer and considers it, says he is staying, and you THEN decide that you want to go to another school? And that's less than 48 hours after you are tweeting how "its all about the U"? Til the UF offer came in?
 
We got dudes on twitter trying to rationalize that this isn't a big deal. The Goldenites will say anything...

Dont know about the WHOLE time, but he did say he had been in contact and been reassured. Im sure AG did the same with everyone else. See this is where I cant get with the "program" around here. I just dont buy that these guys are so epically stupid, every member of our staff is so retarded, that all this is going on and they are clueless. As if these guys have never done this stuff before. Even if you think AG is a moron, Hurlie, Barrow, Coley, have all played this game before. These guys arent idiots at recruiting.

i am not gonna lie, the thought of butch coming back made me very happy and after ag's press conference i kind of hoped he went to psu.
 
now miller degnan is reporting denzel has not made a decision yet. i swear, penn st has cursed us more than FSU ever could.

Rumors started flying on Friday. Sunday he made a statement.
Funny thing is the whole staff was on vacation for the dead period, except for Golden who was working.
Yes, he met with Penn State. He didn't fly up to them, they came to him, and nobody even knows if he interviewed.
All speculation. He might have just met them out of courtesy to his alma mater to tell them he's happy at Miami.

All we know for certain is that less than 48 hours after this crap blew up he came out with a statement saying he isn't and never has been a candidate for any other position.

Yet to all you schmucks he's a liar and a fraud?

And then you woke up and realized that **** would freeze over before Donna Shalala allowed Butch Davis back here? Curtis Johnson or Mario Cristobal. Those were the likeliest options. THAT is who you all need to visualize, when you imagine Golden leaving, and our new HC comign in to save the day. Stop living in a dream world. Its been 14 years and a carousel of coaches.. By now you should all realize that UM is not going to blow out the check book on an A list coach, nor are they going to hire with a "win at all costs" mentality, ESPECIALLY not being on probation after the black eye of the last 3 years.
