Here’s some better questions:
Which positions will be upgraded from last year’s roster?
And vice versa?
The only areas I see us potentially getting worse is TE and DT.
TE — Mallory and Jordan were amazing pulls, but I doubt either one will be ready to fill the void Herndon vacated. We will be more dynamic in the long term, but probably not right away.
DT — I think Willis, as some have pointed out, was the best DT on last year’s roster. He’s an upgrade over either Norton or RJ, but I don’t think Jon Ford is at the same level. Time will tell, though, and he could very well turn out to be fantastic.
RB is a push. Walton, when healthy, is irreplaceable, but having Homer, Dallas, and young Lingard waiting in the wings is nothing to shrug at.
DE seems like a push, too. We lose Chad and Trent, but we get D-Jack back from injury and we still got Garvin, Joe Jackson, and Patchan, who I think is criminally underrated because of the bad breaks he has had with injuries.
The rest?
QB — if Rosier is the guy, who knows what we get out of him. I’m going to say push for now.
WR — upgrade. Tough to replace Berrios, but overall, our talent is better than last year.
OL — upgrade. I think they will continue to improve. The question is, by how much?
LB — upgrade. 3rd year starters are only going to get better.
DB — upgrade. We return almost everyone, and now we have an infusion of young talent, too.
Special Teams — well, it can’t get much worse, right? Please, for the love of god, I hope it’s an upgrade, but it’s sucks to lose Badge, even if he was inconsistent at times.

The most difficult projections to make is on the OL because it usually takes Searels half the season to find the best 5.
Also the staff tends to prefer Seniority (upperclassmen) early on in the season, like with Malek Young he wasn't starting first half of the season his Freshman year, but by the time we were playing NC St, UVA, Duke etc, he was starting.
So I have Friersom starting, but I'm almost certain Dean will be starting opposite of MJ, or I could see them playing Bandy as an outside CB opposite of MJ. But, I think either Frierson or Ivey should get the spot before the season is over.
Same with the OL, I got Reed starting but I expect Mahoney or one of the other upperclassmen to get that RG spot initially.

I honestly think that this is the deepest, most talented roster we have had in 15 years........if our QB play is solid it could be historic.

Looking at that reminds me just how much talent we have. For the first time since maybe 2004 we a top 5 team in terms of talent . And we actually have a great coach too. truthfully the last time we have had both is the early 90's .
