Potential Saban successor

They have a better recruiting class than we do right now. Until they stop loading up on 5-stars, they’ll keep winning.

Saban could kick the bucket tomorrow and the Bama boosters would just find a good taxidermist and cart Saban out on to the sideline Weekend at Bernie’s style….and they would continue to land 5-stars and win accordingly.
They will when they lose Saban. Gradually, then suddenly.

Howard only left b/c we were being cheap like always till Mario. And he also had a sick son that needed major healthcare, iirc. If not, he stays put.
IIRC, Howard was offered an ownership stake in the USFL Miami franchise, which sadly for Howard, never materialize. He also won a NC at Miami, so he met his goal.

No offense to anyone here (well a little) but it's some straight mongoloid logic if you think that Mario is going to do well enough here to be the #1 choice in the collective inbred mindset of the Alabaga decision makers to replace Sabag....and that they'll just simply outbid us for him because they're Baga.

Wake up. Get the SEC d!ck outcha moufs too.

The ONLY place a very successful Mario Cristobal is going as the Canes head coach is the NFL.

MAYBE if he doesn't exactly exceed expectations and some of the fanbase starts to sour on him (see Franklin in Pedo State as somewhat of this example) and there's some other tension at play AND Baga doesn't have as many options available as thought (see Texas over the years when they've had an opening) THEN there would be a minute chance.

But that last scenario isn't Baga taking our coach just because they're big bad Baga.
I think you're downplaying this. Time will tell how Mario fares, but if Bama comes knocking, I think any coach will listen, including Mario. He'd be stupid not to at least listen (and create leverage for a new deal). Whenever Saban retires, some fan bases will be tense as **** with the specter of Bama offering the successor $12-15MM a year, plus the keys to that well-oiled machine.

I think Jimbo is the wild card. He's a snake with no loyalty to any program. He'd dip A&M for Bama IMO. He's already one of the premier recruiters in the country and his profile would only increase at Bama.

wonder if Demeco Ryans has any interest. He's definitely going to have NFL head coaching interest this offseason.
That would be a pretty good hire imo. I just wonder if some boosters would have an issue with that type of hire.

No need to get defensive.

Just pointing out that loyalty in college football only exists amongst fans
Bingo. It's a **** business. "He would never leave us. He loves Miami." That's fan-boy sh*t. When Bama calls, you pick up. Would he leave? Probably not. But, if Bama inquires, he's taking that call and using it as leverage to sign a new deal.

I think the disconnect here is that you guys are looking at Mario now as Sabag's successor vs Mario actually being legitimately successful at the University of Miami and THEN being courted by Baga.

In this era of college football and with the people at our school having finally risen from a slumber about what CFB means to a school and to revenue, we're simply not going to get outbid (by a college program) for one guy that holds one job- and especially when that guy has an emotional bond to this program AND will have just had real success here (which would negate the "well oiled" machine allure even beyond the lunacy of being the guy to replace a legend).

I'm going to stand by this. The ONLY place a University of Miami that is legitimately serious about being a big boy in college football is losing most coaches to AND especially someone like Mario is the National Football League- and that'll be for reasons bigger than money.
