Potential Portal DB’s (CB’s & S’s only)

**** man. Nickels are coming off the board. Either we get Koi and BC safety, , or we just get BC safety and MUST land a nickel! Like which nickel is left, MJ Cannon, Boo Carter,?

 
@Memnon you got any input on DBs available?

Seems we are very likely to get BC safety Thornton.

Only other safeties seem to be Koi.

But cbs there’s Aj Harris from PSU. But wonder if he’d be open or good at nickel. Prob too expensive. Think smith Snowden played nickel for Utah and was good but probably Michigan.

Boo Carter was talked about highly but potential off field issues. Dj barskdale prob too short. Didn’t even realize apparently cannon may have already picked a school, VTech just got the guy I liked from Troy..


Maybe best option is just having S+Nickel a grouping of Poyser, Fitz, Thornton, and Koi…and also hoping our young CBs step up.

Also def don’t want to lose OConnor to portal either. Rather lose Damari if anyone

When I see a name like this, I can’t help but to think back to what D money and Pete said on a podcast almost 2 months ago. Because of the brevity of the portal, teams are going to look to players that they recruited back in high school because they have a baseline of who that person is. I don’t know if it means anything. But it’s stuck in my brain.

As of now

DJ McKinney is the best CB available

Jahmal Shelby is the best Nickel available

AJ Harris & Joenel Aguero are both ***.

I’d take Shelby, he’d probably be “cheap” too. I think the plan currently prob is to just take Koi and Thornton. But if we don’t land Koi Nickel is critical. Maybe if we do land him too tbh.

Outside CB I don’t see any adds being made and would be surprised if we didn’t see attrition there in addition to Brantley.
